Aftermath in Wakanda
Part 18
The battle against Thanos had left its mark on the city, the once-vibrant streets now scarred and battered. Yelena and Natasha walked through the quiet streets, their footsteps echoing off the buildings. The air was heavy with the scent of smoke and ozone, a reminder of the destruction that had been wrought. As they walked, Natasha's gaze lingered on Yelena's profile. "You're still processing, aren't you?" she asked, her voice low and gentle. Yelena nodded, her eyes fixed on the ground. "I don't know how to turn it off," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "The anger, the hurt... it's all still there, simmering just below the surface." Natasha's expression softened, her eyes filling with empathy. "You don't have to turn it off, Yelena," she said. "You just have to learn to live with it. To channel it into something positive." Yelena's gaze snapped up to meet Natasha's, a spark of understanding flickering to life between them. They had both been through so much, and yet they had come out the other side, stronger and more resilient. As they walked, the city began to come alive around them. The sounds of vendors and traders filled the air, mingling with the scent of food and spices. Yelena's stomach growled, and she smiled wryly. "Food," she said, her voice a little stronger now. "I think I need food." Natasha laughed, a warm, throaty sound. "I think that's a great idea," she said. "Let's go find something to eat." They walked to a nearby market, the colors and smells of the food stalls a welcome respite from the destruction they had faced. Yelena's eyes widened as she scanned the offerings, her stomach growling in anticipation. Natasha smiled, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "You're in luck," she said. "The Wakandan cuisine is amazing." Yelena grinned, her eyes lighting up with excitement. "Let's try everything," she said, her voice a little too loud. Natasha laughed, and they spent the next few hours eating and laughing, the tension and stress of the battle melting away. As the sun began to set, they found a quiet spot to sit and watch the stars come out. Yelena's gaze turned inward, her thoughts turning to her past and her family. "Natasha?" she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Yeah?" Natasha replied, her eyes turning to Yelena's. Yelena's gaze locked onto Natasha's, a sense of vulnerability and openness between them. "I'm glad you're here," she said. "I don't know what I would do without you." Natasha's expression softened, her eyes filling with warmth and affection. "You'll never have to find out," she said. "I'm not going anywhere." Yelena smiled, a sense of peace and contentment washing over her. She knew that she still had a long way to go, but with Natasha by her side, she felt ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. As the stars twinkled to life above them, Yelena felt a sense of hope and belonging. She was the strongest devil hunter, and she would continue to protect the innocent and vanquish the forces of darkness. The legacy of the Sword of the Unseen Twin had begun, and Yelena was ready to face whatever lay ahead.
