**Chapter 12: A Spark of Attraction**

Part 12

As I walked off the set, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I had left a part of myself behind. The easy camaraderie between Lewis and Kaia had been palpable, and I couldn't help but wonder if I was just a temporary distraction for Lewis, a placeholder until someone like Kaia came along. I pushed the thought aside, focusing on the cool evening air that enveloped me as I made my way to my trailer. As I changed out of my wet clothes, my mind began to wander back to the set. Kaia had been a natural, effortlessly slipping into her character and bringing a level of depth and nuance that had been missing from the scene. Lewis had been in his element, directing her with a confidence and authority that I had never seen before. I was lost in thought when there was a knock at the door. It was Lewis, a sheepish grin spreading across his face as he poked his head inside. "Hey, can I talk to you for a minute?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with amusement. I nodded, gesturing for him to come in. He sat down on the couch, his eyes never leaving mine. "I just wanted to say, I'm really sorry about today," he said, his voice low and sincere. "I know it was a bit of a disaster, but I think we really made some progress. And Kaia was amazing." I smiled, feeling a warmth spread through my chest. "She was incredible," I agreed. "You two really have a great chemistry." Lewis's eyes locked onto mine, and for a moment, I thought I saw something there, a spark of attraction that went beyond mere professionalism. But it was quickly extinguished, replaced by a friendly smile. "Yeah, we get along really well," he said, his voice casual. "I think that's going to translate really well on screen." I nodded, trying to play it cool. But inside, I was reeling. Had I really seen what I thought I had seen? And what did it mean, exactly? Was Lewis just being friendly, or was there something more to it? As Lewis stood up to leave, his hand brushed against mine, sending a jolt of electricity through my body. I felt my heart skip a beat as our eyes met, and for a moment, I thought I saw something there, a glimmer of possibility that went beyond mere friendship. But it was quickly extinguished, replaced by Lewis's easy smile. "Thanks for understanding, and I'll see you tomorrow," he said, before turning and walking out of the trailer. I was left sitting there, feeling like I had been punched in the gut. What was going on with Lewis, exactly? And what did it mean for me? I had a feeling that the next few days were going to be very interesting indeed.
