An Unexpected Visit
Part 3
Kenzy woke up to someone knocking on her door, and to her surprise, she heard Captain Levi's deep, familiar voice on the other side. "Lucifer, I need to speak with you," he said, his tone firm but not unkind. Kenzy's heart skipped a beat as she quickly got out of bed and made her way to the door. She opened it to find Captain Levi standing in the hallway, his eyes fixed intently on her. He was dressed in his usual attire, but his expression was softer than she had ever seen it before. "Come in," Kenzy said, stepping aside to let him enter. Captain Levi walked into her small room, his eyes scanning the space before settling on her. "I wanted to talk to you about yesterday's training session," he said, his voice low and serious. Kenzy felt a flutter in her chest as she took a seat on her bed, trying to appear nonchalant despite her racing thoughts. "Yes, sir?" she replied, trying to keep her voice steady. Captain Levi leaned against the wall, his arms crossed over his chest. "I know you're a skilled fighter, Lucifer," he said, his eyes narrowing slightly. "But I also know that you have a tendency to be...reckless. I don't want to see you get hurt during training." Kenzy felt a surge of defensiveness, but she bit back her retort, knowing that Captain Levi was only trying to help. "I understand, sir," she said quietly. Captain Levi's gaze lingered on her for a moment before he nodded. "Good. I also wanted to ask you something," he said, his voice a little softer. "What do you know about the Scout Regiment's current mission?" Kenzy's eyes widened in surprise. She had only been a part of the regiment for a short time, and she hadn't been privy to any sensitive information. "Not much, sir," she replied honestly. "I've only heard rumors." Captain Levi's expression turned thoughtful. "I see," he said. "Well, just be careful, Lucifer. There are things going on that you don't understand yet. And I don't want you to get caught in the crossfire." Kenzy felt a shiver run down her spine as Captain Levi's words hung in the air. She had a feeling that he was trying to tell her something more, but he wasn't quite sure how to phrase it. As they sat there in silence, Kenzy couldn't help but notice the way Captain Levi's eyes seemed to bore into her soul. It was as if he was trying to see something deep within her, something that she wasn't even sure she understood herself. Finally, Captain Levi straightened up, his expression returning to its usual seriousness. "I'll leave you to your rest, Lucifer," he said, his voice firm once more. "Just remember what I said." With that, he turned and walked out of her room, leaving Kenzy feeling both confused and intrigued. She couldn't shake the feeling that Captain Levi was hiding something from her, something important. And she was determined to find out what it was.
