A Necessary Evil
Part 2
Regina Mills scowled at Robin of Locksley as he scrutinized every inch of her luxurious living room. His piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into the walls, searching for any potential threats. She had hired him to be her new bodyguard, but that didn't mean she had to like it. "I don't see why you need to be so thorough," Regina said, trying to sound impatient. "I've had bodyguards before. I know what to expect." Robin turned to her, his rugged features set in a stern expression. "I've worked with plenty of celebrities, love. I know what to expect too. And I always err on the side of caution." Regina raised an eyebrow. "You're not exactly filling me with confidence, you know." Robin snorted. "I'm here to protect you, not coddle your ego." Their banter was interrupted by the sound of Robin's phone buzzing. He answered it, his eyes scanning the room as he listened to the person on the other end. "What is it?" Regina asked, curiosity getting the better of her. "It's my team," Robin replied, his voice low and serious. "They've been monitoring your social media accounts, and they've noticed a spike in suspicious activity." Regina's eyes widened. "What kind of activity?" "Fans are getting a bit too aggressive," Robin explained. "They're posting threatening messages and trying to get close to you. We need to take precautions." Regina felt a shiver run down her spine. She had dealt with overzealous fans before, but this sounded different. "Okay, what do we need to do?" she asked, trying to sound calm. Robin pulled out a small notebook and flipped through the pages. "We'll need to increase security measures, limit your public appearances, and-" Regina interrupted him, feeling a bit overwhelmed. "Okay, okay. I get it. You're going to be all over me like glue." Robin smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "That's the idea, love." As they continued to discuss the details of their working relationship, Regina couldn't help but notice the way Robin's eyes seemed to roam over her body. She felt a flush rise to her cheeks and quickly looked away, trying to compose herself. The tension between them was palpable, and Regina couldn't help but wonder if she was ready for the level of protection Robin seemed to think she needed. As they stood there, locked in a silent understanding, Regina felt a spark of attraction that she couldn't ignore. She pushed the thought aside, focusing on the task at hand. For now, she just needed to get used to having Robin around. "I suppose you're going to be following me everywhere, then?" Regina asked, trying to sound nonchalant. "Everywhere," Robin replied, his eyes glinting with a hint of amusement. "You'll be stuck with me like glue, love." Regina rolled her eyes. "This is going to be a long day." As they began to make their way to the door, Regina caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. She looked stunning, her black dress hugging her curves in all the right places. Robin seemed to notice too, his eyes lingering on her reflection. "You look beautiful, love," he said, his voice low and husky. Regina's heart skipped a beat as she turned to face him. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the tension between them crackling like electricity. Then Robin cleared his throat and opened the door for her. "Shall we?" Regina nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. She had a feeling that this was going to be a very long day indeed. As they stepped out into the bright sunlight, Regina was hit with a wave of paparazzi cameras. Robin stepped in front of her, shielding her from the flashes. "Let's get out of here," he said, his voice firm. Regina nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. Maybe having Robin around wouldn't be so bad after all. As they made their way to the car, Regina couldn't help but steal glances at Robin. He was rugged and handsome, his eyes gleaming with a hint of protectiveness. She felt a flutter in her chest and quickly looked away, trying to compose herself. She wasn't going to let herself fall for her bodyguard. That would be a disaster. But as they drove away from the chaos of the paparazzi, Regina couldn't help but wonder if she was already in too deep.
