Settling into Hero Life
Part 20
With our designs mostly settled, Bakugo and I decided it was time to submit our hero suits to Mr. Aizawa for review. We walked into his office, our sketchbooks in hand, and presented our designs to him. Mr. Aizawa's eyes scanned our work, his expression thoughtful. "Not bad, not bad at all," he said, his voice neutral. "But, for your safety, I think it's best if we move you both into the dorms. It's not safe for you to be commuting back and forth from your homes, especially with your Quirk development still unpredictable." I nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness. I had never lived away from home before, and the thought of dorm life was both thrilling and intimidating. With that, Mr. Aizawa handed us a schedule and a map of the dorms. "Your dorm is just a short walk from here. You can move in immediately." I gathered my things and said goodbye to Bakugo, who was heading to his own dorm. I made my way to my new home, my heart racing with anticipation. As I arrived at the dorms, I was greeted by a spacious lobby and a friendly staff. They showed me to my room, which was nice and cozy. I was pleased to see that it was just as I had imagined - a comfortable space with plenty of room to relax. I unpacked my things, setting up my gaming station, TV, and queen-sized bed with black sheets. I added some plants and cute fairy lights, giving my room a warm and cozy aesthetic. I stepped back to admire my handiwork, feeling a sense of satisfaction. As I lay down on my bed, I heard a voice. "The room is nice," the voice said. I sat up, looking around to see who was speaking. That's when I saw him - my shadow, standing in the corner of my room. I was surprised to hear that my shadow sounded like a boy, even though I was a girl. "Thanks," I said, smiling. "I'm glad you like it." "Do you have a name?" I asked my shadow. "No," he replied. "I'm going to call you Osby, short for Obsidian," I said, grinning. "What do you think?" "Osby is fine," my shadow said, his voice low and smooth. "I like it." We chatted for a bit, Osby and I, getting to know each other. It was strange, but also kind of nice, having a shadow with a personality of his own. I settled back into my bed, feeling a sense of comfort and companionship. "So, Osby," I said, "what's it like being my shadow?" " It's...different," Osby replied. "I've always been with you, but I've never really been able to talk to you before. It's nice to finally have a voice." I smiled, feeling a sense of connection to my shadow. "I'm glad to have you, Osby," I said. "You're going to be a great companion." Osby chuckled, his voice low and smooth. "I'm looking forward to it," he said.
