"Confronting the Pain"

Part 3

Sabrina walked down the hallway, her eyes scanning the room numbers until she found Maya's door. She had been searching for her everywhere, and finally, she had tracked her down to her room. Sabrina knocked softly on the door, but there was no response. She tried the handle and found it unlocked, pushing the door open slowly. The room was dimly lit, the only sound the soft hum of the air conditioner. Sabrina's eyes adjusted to the darkness, and she saw Maya lying on the bed, her body curled up in a tight ball. Sabrina's gaze was drawn to Maya's wrists, and her heart skipped a beat as she saw the fresh cuts. Sabrina's eyes widened in shock and concern as she quickly walked over to Maya's bedside. "Maya, what happened?" she asked, her voice soft and gentle. Maya slowly opened her eyes, and Sabrina saw the tears and puffiness around them. She looked like she had been crying for hours. Maya's gaze drifted to Sabrina, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. Sabrina's eyes dropped to Maya's wrists again, and she felt a surge of anger and worry. She knew that Maya had a history of self-harm, and it broke her heart to see her friend hurting herself again. "Maya, why?" Sabrina asked, her voice cracking with emotion. "What did he do to you?" Maya's gaze dropped, and she shook her head, her body trembling. Sabrina quickly sat down beside her, taking Maya's hand in hers. She gently turned Maya's wrist over, examining the cuts more closely. "We need to get you help, Maya," Sabrina said, her voice firm but gentle. "You can't keep doing this to yourself. It's not healthy, and it's not safe." Maya looked up at Sabrina, her eyes welling up with tears. "I don't know what to do, Sabrina," she whispered. "I feel so lost and alone." Sabrina pulled Maya into a hug, holding her tightly. "You're not alone, Maya," she said. "I'm here for you. We'll get through this together." As they hugged, Sabrina couldn't help but think about Nick. She had interrupted their moment in the pool, but she had no idea that it would lead to this. She made a mental note to talk to Nick, to make him understand the impact of his actions on Maya. Sabrina held Maya for a long time, letting her cry and process her emotions. She knew that it wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to help Maya heal and move forward. As they sat there, Sabrina realized that she had a lot to learn about her friends and their complicated relationships. But she was willing to do whatever it took to support them, even if it meant confronting the people who had hurt them.
