Chapter 9: Coronation Day
Part 9
The sun shone brightly on the day of Elsa's coronation, casting a warm glow over the palace and the streets of Arendelle. Iduna woke up early, feeling a mix of emotions as she got dressed in her finest gown. She had spent years preparing for this moment, and now that it was here, she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and nostalgia. As she made her way to Elsa's chambers, Iduna could hear the sound of music and laughter coming from outside. She smiled, knowing that her daughter was surrounded by friends and loved ones on this special day. When she entered Elsa's chambers, Iduna was struck by her daughter's beauty. Elsa was dressed in a stunning ice blue gown, her long blonde hair cascading down her back like a river of gold. She looked regal and confident, and Iduna couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. "Good morning, Mother," Elsa said, smiling as she curtsied. Iduna smiled back, feeling a sense of joy and love. "Good morning, Your Majesty," she replied, using Elsa's new title. Together, Iduna and Elsa made their way to the throne room, where the coronation ceremony was to take place. The room was filled with dignitaries and guests, all of whom were eager to see Elsa crowned queen. As they walked down the aisle, Iduna couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. She remembered the day Agnarr had been crowned king, and how proud she had been of him. Now, she was watching her daughter take the throne, and it was a bittersweet moment. The ceremony was a beautiful and moving affair, with Elsa promising to protect and serve the people of Arendelle. Iduna watched with tears in her eyes as the bishop placed the crown on Elsa's head, and the room erupted in cheers and applause. As Elsa took her seat on the throne, Iduna felt a sense of pride and joy. Her daughter was growing up, and she was becoming the queen she was meant to be. The rest of the day was a blur of celebrations and festivities, with Iduna and Elsa at the center of it all. They greeted guests, cut cake, and danced with the people of Arendelle. As the night drew to a close, Iduna took Elsa's hand and looked into her eyes. "I'm so proud of you, Elsa," she said, her voice filled with emotion. "You're going to be an amazing queen." Elsa smiled, her eyes shining with happiness. "Thank you, Mother," she replied. "I couldn't have done it without you." Iduna smiled back, feeling a sense of love and gratitude. She knew that this was just the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, and she was excited to see what the future held. As they left the throne room, Iduna caught a glimpse of herself in a mirror. Her brown hair was done up in a coronet braid, a style she had worn for years. It was a reminder of her life with Agnarr, of the happy times they had shared. Iduna's eyes misted, but she pushed aside her emotions, focusing on the future. She knew that she still had a lot to learn, a lot to navigate, but she was ready. She was ready to face the challenges of being a widow, of being a mother to two growing daughters, and of finding a new sense of purpose in her life. And as she looked at Elsa, she knew that she would always be there for her daughter, to support her, to guide her, and to love her.
