Symptoms of a Larger Problem

Part 2

A few days had passed since the group had expressed their concerns about the air conditioning unit in the hotel. The morning had started like any other, with guests bustling about, enjoying their breakfast and chatting with one another. However, as the day wore on, a few of the guests began to exhibit some unusual symptoms. Mario, usually a picture of health and energy, was suddenly experiencing irregular bowel movements. He excused himself from the table where he was eating and made a hasty retreat to the bathroom. Meanwhile, Luigi was grimacing in discomfort, clutching his backside in moderate pain. "Ow, ow, ow," he muttered to himself, trying to alleviate the discomfort. Princess Peach, normally a vision of elegance and poise, was suddenly afflicted with a nasty case of dermatitis. Her skin was red, itchy, and inflamed, and she was frantically trying to find some sort of relief. Zelda, usually a paragon of strength and vitality, was experiencing a very mild back pain. It was nothing that would normally concern her, but she knew that it was unusual for her. And Link, the brave warrior, was experiencing mild drooling. It was a strange symptom, and he wasn't quite sure what to make of it. As these guests began to exhibit their symptoms, the others took notice. Fox McCloud's eyes narrowed as he put two and two together. "It's Cryptosporidiosis," he said, his voice low and serious. Marth's face went pale. "How did it spread so quickly?" Samus's expression was grim. "The air conditioning unit must have been contaminated. We need to tell the hotel staff right away." The group quickly spread the word, and soon the hotel was in an uproar. The staff was scrambling to contain the outbreak, and the guests were trying to figure out how to protect themselves. King K. Rool, who had been watching the scene unfold with interest, let out a cackle. "This is perfect," he said to himself. "A bunch of weakened fighters, unable to defend themselves. This could be the break I need to take over the hotel." As the guests struggled to come to terms with their situation, it became clear that this was no ordinary illness. The question on everyone's mind was: how would they survive this outbreak, and what would be the consequences for the hotel and its guests?
