Chapter 60: An Unexpected Resemblance
Part 60
As I stood there, frozen in shock, my mind began to spin out of control. How was it possible that Osby, my shadow, looked exactly like Sung Jinwoo, one of the anime characters I had a huge crush on? I felt like I had been punched in the gut, my thoughts reeling with the implications. I think I might have even stopped breathing for a moment. I finally managed to find my voice, and I blurted out, "Shit- I fucked up." The words tumbled out of my mouth before I could even process what I was saying. Osby's expression changed from curiosity to amusement, and he raised an eyebrow. "Oh, so I look exactly like a guy you have a crush on, huh?" he said, his voice teasing. I felt my face turn an even deeper shade of red as I realized that Osby had picked up on my reaction. I tried to cover my face with my hands, but it was too late. Osby took a step closer to me, his eyes sparkling with mirth. "Ah, I see," he said, his voice low and playful. "I didn't know I was so... appealing." I felt like I was going to die from embarrassment. I shook my head, trying to deny it, but Osby just laughed. The sound was infectious, and I found myself smiling, despite my initial mortification. Osby's laughter only made me feel more embarrassed, and I buried my face in my hands. "Stop, stop laughing," I muttered, my voice muffled. But Osby just chuckled and patted me on the back. "Don't be embarrassed," he said, his voice still amused. "I'm flattered, actually." I peeked through my fingers, my eyes meeting Osby's. He was still grinning, but there was something else in his eyes, something that looked almost like understanding. I sighed, feeling a mix of emotions. This was not how I had planned for Osby's introduction to the outside world to go. But as I looked at him, I realized that maybe this was exactly what I needed – a little bit of awkwardness and embarrassment to break the ice. Osby's grin slowly faded, and he looked at me with a more serious expression. "So, what do we do now?" he asked, his voice no longer teasing. I took a deep breath, trying to compose myself. "I guess we start with breakfast," I said, trying to sound casual. Osby nodded, and together, we headed out of the room, into a new day full of possibilities and uncertainties.
