"Crossing Boundaries"
Part 9
As we strolled through the sun-drenched streets, the tension between us began to dissipate, replaced by a sense of ease and comfort that I'd never experienced with Levi before. He walked beside me, his long strides matching mine as we made our way through the quiet neighborhood. I couldn't help but steal glances at him, taking in the sharp angles of his face, the piercing gaze that seemed to see right through me. He caught me looking, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Hey, what are you staring at?" he asked, his voice low and husky, sending a shiver down my spine. I felt my cheeks heat up, a flush rising to my face. "Just...enjoying the view," I said, trying to sound casual. Levi raised an eyebrow, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "The view?" I nodded, my eyes drifting back to his. "Yeah. You look pretty good in civilian clothes, you know." He chuckled, a low, throaty sound that sent a thrill through me. "Thanks, I think." We walked in silence for a moment, the only sound the rustling of leaves and the distant hum of the city. "You know, Kenzy," Levi said, his voice low and flirtatious, "I never thought I'd see the day where you'd be walking alongside me, looking at me like that." I felt my heart skip a beat as I met his gaze. "Looking at you like what?" I asked, trying to sound innocent. Levi's eyes locked onto mine, a mischievous glint in their depths. "Like you're interested," he said, his voice dropping to a whisper. My face grew hotter, a deep crimson that I knew would rival the color of my hair. "Maybe I am," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. Levi's smile grew wider, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Maybe?" he repeated, his voice teasing. I nodded, my heart racing with excitement. "Maybe," I said again, my voice firm. Levi's eyes seemed to burn with intensity as he reached out, his hand brushing against mine. It was a fleeting touch, but it sent a jolt of electricity through me, leaving me breathless. "Maybe isn't good enough," Levi said, his voice low and husky. "I want to know if you're sure." I turned to him, my eyes meeting his. "I'm sure," I said, my voice firm. Levi's gaze held mine, a spark of attraction igniting between us. "Good," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. And with that, he leaned in, his lips brushing against mine in a soft, gentle kiss that left me wanting more.
