**Chapter 1: Brewed Awakening**

Part 1

Remi groggily opened his eyes, rubbing the sleep from his eyelids as he swung his legs over the side of the bed. Another day, another dollar, and another opportunity to embarrass himself in front of his crushes. He worked at the cozy cafe, "The Daily Grind," which was a popular spot for students from Asmodeus University. Remi had attended the university for three years now, studying literature and trying to avoid social interactions as much as possible. As he got dressed, Remi's mind wandered to the regular customers he had grown accustomed to. There was the group of rowdy freshmen who always ordered complicated drinks and left a mess, the elderly couple who held hands and sipped lattes, and the athletic duo who always seemed to be in a rush. The twins, Torment and Nemia, were their names. Torment, the basketball player, was a hothead with a quick temper and a penchant for yelling at the referees during games. Nemia, on the other hand, was a gyaru with a flair for drama and a love for all things cute. Remi had a love-hate relationship with the twins. He loved watching Nemia's sass-filled interactions with the customers, but he hated when Torment would storm into the cafe, demanding his coffee and making a scene. Remi had noticed that Nemia often sat at a table by the window, sipping her frappuccino and observing the cafe's patrons with an intensity that made Remi squirm. As Remi arrived at the cafe, he was greeted by the familiar aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the chatter of early morning customers. He clocked in, exchanging a tired smile with his coworker, Jasmine. "Morning, Remi! Another day, another chance to spill coffee on Torment's jersey," Jasmine said with a chuckle. Remi rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "Hey, that's not my fault! He's always in a rush." Just then, the door swung open, and Torment strode in, his basketball gear slung over his shoulder. "Coffee, black, no sugar! And make it snappy, barista!" he barked, not even bothering to look at Remi. Remi's hands trembled slightly as he poured the coffee, trying not to make eye contact with Torment. As he handed him the cup, their fingers touched, and Remi quickly pulled his hand back, feeling a flush rise to his cheeks. Nemia sauntered in a minute later, her bright pink hair a stark contrast to Torment's dark, brooding presence. She gave Remi a sparkling smile and a wave, which he awkwardly returned. As she made her way to her usual table by the window, she caught Remi's eye and mouthed, "Good morning, cutie!" Remi's face turned beet red as he looked away, trying to compose himself. The morning rush was about to descend upon the cafe, and Remi steeled himself for the chaos. Little did he know, Nemia had a plan brewing in her mind, one that would change the dynamics of their little cafe world forever.
