Chapter 73: Embracing the Label

Mitsuba cuddled up close to Kou, his face in his neck. "So what are we now?" Mitsuba began, his voice muffled against Kou's skin. "Together? Loves? One another's? Official?" He said, his words tumbling out in a rush. Kou chuckled, feeling Mitsuba's warm breath on his skin. "I think we established that last night," he said, his voice low and soothing. Mitsuba's voice was barely above a whisper. "Boyfriends?" He said, his breath sending shivers down Kou's spine. Kou's heart skipped a beat as he felt Mitsuba's lips brush against his skin. He wrapped his arms around Mitsuba, holding him close. "Yes, boyfriends," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion. Mitsuba's body relaxed against Kou's, and he let out a contented sigh. "Really?" he asked, his voice full of wonder. Kou nodded, even though Mitsuba couldn't see him. "Really," he replied, his voice firm. As they sat there in the darkness, the sound of the waves washing over them, Kou felt a sense of peace wash over him. He knew that this was what he wanted, to be with Mitsuba, to explore this new relationship and see where it would take them. Mitsuba's lips brushed against Kou's neck again, and he felt a shiver run down his spine. "I like that," Mitsuba said, his voice low and husky. "I like being your boyfriend." Kou's heart fluttered at Mitsuba's words, and he felt a rush of emotions. He turned his head, his lips brushing against Mitsuba's ear. "I like it too," he whispered, his voice filled with feeling.
