**Chapter 11: Seeds of Doubt**

Part 11

As Pam approached Luka on the dance floor, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Sophia's words had planted a seed of doubt in her mind, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to Luka's past than he was letting on. She tried to push the thoughts aside and lose herself in the music, but her eyes kept scanning the crowd, searching for Sophia. Luka, oblivious to Pam's concerns, spun her around, his eyes locked on hers. "Hey, beautiful," he said, his voice low and husky. "What's wrong? You look like you're a thousand miles away." Pam forced a smile, trying to brush off her worries. "Nothing," she said, her voice light. "Just enjoying the music." Luka's eyes narrowed, but he didn't press the issue. Instead, he pulled her closer, his body swaying to the beat. As they danced, Pam couldn't help but feel like she was being watched. She scanned the crowd, her eyes searching for Sophia, but she was nowhere to be seen. As the night wore on, Pam's unease only grew. She couldn't shake off the feeling that Sophia's words had left her with - a sense of unease and foreboding. Who was Sophia, really? And what did she know about Luka's past? As the music slowed, Luka pulled Pam close, his arms wrapping around her waist. "Hey, is everything okay?" he asked, his voice low and concerned. "You seem a little off tonight." Pam hesitated, unsure of how to respond. She didn't want to accuse Luka of anything, but she couldn't shake off the feeling that Sophia had been trying to tell her something. "I just had a weird conversation with Sophia," she said, her voice hesitant. Luka's expression changed, his eyes clouding over. "What did she say?" he asked, his voice tight. Pam repeated Sophia's words, trying to gauge Luka's reaction. As she spoke, she noticed a flicker of something in his eyes - a flash of guilt, maybe, or regret. But it was quickly replaced by a mask of calm, and Pam wondered if she had imagined it. "I don't know what Sophia's game is," Luka said, his voice even. "But you can ignore her, okay? She's just trying to stir up trouble." Pam nodded, but she couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to the story. As they left the club, she couldn't help but wonder what secrets Luka was hiding, and what Sophia's true motives were. The drive back to Pam's apartment was quiet, the only sound the hum of the engine. Pam's mind was racing with questions, but she didn't want to push Luka. Not yet, at least. As they pulled up to her apartment building, Luka turned off the engine and turned to her. "Hey, I'm sorry if Sophia upset you," he said, his voice soft. "I promise you, Pam, I'm not the kind of guy Sophia makes me out to be." Pam smiled, trying to reassure him. "I know you're not," she said, her voice gentle. "But I do need to know one thing - what's going on with you and Sophia? What did she mean by 'we go way back'?" Luka's eyes locked on hers, and for a moment, Pam thought she saw something there - a glimmer of truth, maybe, or a hint of vulnerability. But it was quickly replaced by a mask of calm, and Pam wondered if she had imagined it. "I'll tell you," Luka said, his voice low. "But not tonight, okay? Let's just get some sleep, and we'll talk about it in the morning." Pam nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. What secrets was Luka hiding? And what would she discover when she finally got the truth? As she got out of the car and walked into her apartment building, she couldn't shake off the feeling that her world was about to be turned upside down.
