The First Secret Meeting
Part 5
As Regulus stood in his apartment building's entrance, James's words lingered in the air, leaving him with a sense of anticipation. The tension between them had grown thicker, and Regulus could feel the weight of James's gaze on him. He knew he had to make a decision, to either take a step back or move forward. James seemed to sense Regulus's hesitation, and his eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "Want to grab a coffee with me?" he asked, his voice low and inviting. Regulus's heart skipped a beat. He knew he shouldn't be meeting James alone, but a part of him was drawn to the idea of spending time with him. "Okay," he said finally, trying to sound casual. James nodded, his smile growing wider. "I'll walk with you," he said, falling into step beside Regulus. As they walked to a nearby café, Regulus couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He had never been alone with James before, and he wasn't sure what to expect. But as they walked, James's presence seemed to fill the space around him, making Regulus feel smaller and more vulnerable. When they arrived at the café, James gestured for Regulus to go ahead, his eyes never leaving Regulus's face. Regulus felt a shiver run down his spine as he pushed open the door, the bell above it ringing out. Inside, the café was quiet, with only a few patrons scattered about. Regulus chose a table in the corner, with James following close behind. As they sat down, Regulus couldn't help but feel a sense of nervousness. He fidgeted with his napkin, his eyes darting around the café. James, on the other hand, seemed completely at ease. He leaned back in his chair, his eyes fixed on Regulus's face. "So," he said, his voice low and husky. "Tell me about yourself." Regulus hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But there was something about James's eyes, something that made him feel like he could trust him. "I don't know," he said finally, shrugging. "I just feel...drawn to you, I guess." James's eyes narrowed, his gaze intensifying. "Drawn to me?" he repeated, his voice low. Regulus nodded, feeling a sense of vulnerability wash over him. "Yeah," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know why. I just feel like...I want to be around you." James's expression softened, and he leaned forward, his eyes locked on Regulus's. "I feel the same way," he said, his voice low and husky. As they talked, Regulus felt a sense of ease wash over him. He found himself opening up to James in ways he never had before, sharing his fears and desires. James listened intently, his eyes never leaving Regulus's face. But as the conversation went on, Regulus began to feel a sense of unease. He realized that he was sharing too much, that he was vulnerable in front of James. He tried to pull back, to retreat behind his mask of indifference. But James seemed to sense his hesitation, and he reached out, his hand brushing against Regulus's. "Hey," he said, his voice low and soothing. "It's okay. I'm here." Regulus felt a jolt of electricity run through him, and he knew that he was in trouble. He was drawn to James, and he wasn't sure if he could resist. As he looked into James's eyes, he felt a sense of surrender wash over him. And in that moment, Regulus knew that he was lost.
