**A Web of Deceit**

Part 5

As Myung-gi shifted uncomfortably in pain, Young-il finally spoke up, his voice dripping with concern. "How did he cause your debt, Junhee?" he asked, his eyes locked on Myung-gi's face, but with a hint of fake curiosity. Junhee's eyes narrowed, her gaze still fixed on Myung-gi. "He was a crypto influencer," she began, her voice cold. "He promoted a scam to his viewers, and I...I trusted him. I invested a lot of money, and it turned out to be a scam. Many people lost their savings, including me." Young-il's expression turned sympathetic, but it was clear he was putting on a show. "Myung-gi, did you know this was a scam?" he asked, his voice laced with fakeness. Myung-gi tried to stutter out a response, "N-no..." Junhee's eyes flashed with anger, but before she could say anything, Gihun spoke up. "Wait, why does Myung-gi need to leave? I mean, I'm sure he was scammed too." Junhee opened her mouth to explain, but before she could, Inho interrupted. "Junhee, how about we let him stay, and if he does anything suspicious or weird, we can kick him out of our group, okay?" Junhee hesitated, not wanting to seem rude, but Young-il and the others were being so kind and caring. She didn't want them to think she was being unreasonable. "Okay...fine," she agreed. Myung-gi let out a yelp of pain, and Daeho and Jungbae looked over curiously. "Are you alright?" Jungbae asked, to which Myung-gi nervously nodded. Young-il smirked, but loosened his hold on Myung-gi's shoulder, just enough to make the pain bearable. He began to gently move his hand up and down in a soothing caress, his eyes never leaving Myung-gi's face. "Don't worry, we're here to protect you," he said, his voice dripping with insincerity. Thanos, who had been quietly observing the scene, spoke up, his voice laced with venom. "I don't trust him," he muttered, his eyes fixed on Myung-gi. "He's the reason I'm in this mess." Namgyu, who had been standing beside Thanos, nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I was scammed too," he said, his voice bitter. The group's dynamics had shifted, and tensions were running high. Junhee couldn't help but wonder if she had made a mistake by agreeing to let Myung-gi stay. As she glanced at Young-il, she noticed a calculating glint in his eye, and she couldn't shake the feeling that he was hiding something.
