**Chapter 2: A Blast from the Past**
Part 2
Kimberly Hart, savoring the last bite of her Italian dinner, gazed into Dante's eyes, feeling grateful for the life they'd built together. Their quiet evening was interrupted by the arrival of a familiar group - her former friends from the Power Rangers, including Trini, Billy, Zack, and Jason. They looked a bit older, but their smug expressions hadn't changed. Jason, ever the jokester, cracked a smile as he approached their table. "Well, well, well. Look what we have here," he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. "The Pink Ranger, all grown up and married to... a demon." Kim's instincts told her to react, but she took a deep breath and remained calm. She knew she didn't need to engage with them. Dante, sensing her tension, stood up, his presence commanding attention. "Can we help you?" he asked, his voice low and even. Trini, always the peacekeeper, intervened. "We just wanted to catch up with Kim, that's all." Kim smiled politely. "It's nice to see you all, but we're in the middle of dinner. Maybe some other time?" As they hesitated, Kim could sense the underlying tension. They still saw her as the girl who'd broken their team, who'd hurt Tommy. But Kim didn't care. She knew she'd made the right decision, and she'd found happiness with Dante. With a nod, she excused herself and Dante, and they finished their dinner in peace. As they left the restaurant, Kim felt a sense of closure wash over her. She was ready to face whatever came next, knowing she had Dante by her side. However, her former friends didn't seem willing to let her go that easily. They followed her and Dante, their footsteps echoing down the sidewalk. Kim could sense their eyes on her, their whispers and snickers carrying on the wind. Kim picked up her pace, Dante matching her stride. "You want to follow them?" he asked, his eyes gleaming with amusement. Kim nodded, her curiosity getting the better of her. "Just for a bit. I want to see what they're up to." As they tailed her former friends to a trendy café, Kim could hear their insults and catty remarks about her. "Look at her, thinking she's so much better than us with her demon husband," Trini said, her voice laced with venom. Kim felt no anger or hurt. She realized that they were still stuck in their old dynamics, and that she'd long surpassed them. She thought about how her life with Dante had changed her, making her stronger and more confident. As they sipped their coffee and gossiped about their lives, Kim observed from afar, listening to their mean-spirited comments. She noticed that her former friends seemed shallow and petty, still obsessed with their past glories as Power Rangers. Kim felt grateful to have left that world behind and to have found a new sense of purpose with Devil May Cry. She had a loving husband, a supportive community, and a sense of belonging. She didn't need their approval or friendship. As she watched, Kim felt a sense of closure wash over her. She was finally able to look her past in the face and see that it no longer had the power to hurt her. With a newfound sense of confidence, Kim turned to Dante and smiled. "Let's go," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Dante nodded, his eyes sparkling with understanding. Together, they walked away, leaving her former friends and their petty dramas behind. Kim knew she'd found her true home, and she was ready to face whatever came next.
