Embarrassing Encounters

Part 5

The next two days were a blur of exhaustion as we trained for hours on end, pushing our bodies to their limits. After a grueling session of exercises, we would stumble back to our quarters, only to be faced with the challenge of cooking our own meals. I was surprised to find that Bakugo was a natural in the kitchen, whipping up delicious dishes with ease. His competitive spirit seemed to translate well to the culinary arts, and he took great pride in his creations. As the days went by, our routine became monotonous - train, eat, sleep, and repeat. But on the third day, our instructor announced that we would be having a test of bravery. We would be paired up and sent out to face our fears, with the goal of seeing how well we could work together and overcome obstacles. As we gathered in the courtyard, a flurry of excitement and nervous energy filled the air. Bakugo, Deku, Todoroki, Shinso, Kirishima, Kaminari, and Monoma all began to argue over who got to walk with me. I watched in amusement as they bickered and joked, each one trying to outdo the others. I couldn't help but giggle at their antics, and in a moment of carefree laughter, I said, "You guys are funny and cute." I didn't realize I had spoken out loud until Osby's teasing voice cut through the air. "You realize you said that out loud, right?" My face immediately turned bright red as I covered it with my hands, mortified. Mina burst out laughing, his eyes shining with mirth. "Wow, haha, I can't believe you said that, Vesper!" The group fell silent, their eyes fixed on me with a mixture of surprise and amusement. I wanted to crawl into a hole and die. The embarrassment was suffocating, and I couldn't bear to look at any of them. Deku, however, just chuckled and patted me on the back, saying, "Don't worry, Vesper. We're still going to make a great team, no matter what." With that, our instructor paired us up, and I found myself walking alongside Deku, while Bakugo grumbled good-naturedly about being stuck with Todoroki. As we set out on our bravery test, I couldn't shake off the feeling of embarrassment, but I was determined to face whatever challenges lay ahead, no matter how daunting they may seem.
