"Trapped in His Web"

Part 10

The next morning, Charlie woke up feeling groggy and disoriented. As she sat up and swung her legs over the side of the bed, she was met with a wave of pain and discomfort. She looked down and saw that her body was covered in bruises and scratches, a reminder of the previous night's events. But as she looked around the room, she realized that there was no pregnancy test in sight. She must have imagined it, she thought, trying to shake off the feeling of unease. As the weeks went by, Travis's behavior seemed to change. He was more relaxed, more charming, and more attentive. Charlie couldn't help but feel that he was trying to manipulate her, but she couldn't quite put her finger on why. She started to feel like she was walking on eggshells, never knowing when he would snap again. One evening, Travis suggested they go out to dinner at a new restaurant in town. Charlie agreed, hoping that a night out would be just what she needed to clear her head. As they sat down at their table, Charlie couldn't help but notice the way Travis was watching her, his eyes gleaming with an intensity that made her feel uneasy. Just as they were ordering their food, Charlie saw a familiar face across the room. It was her ex-boyfriend, Alex, and he was making his way over to their table. Charlie's heart skipped a beat as she smiled and waved, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. Travis followed her gaze and his expression darkened. Charlie could see the tension building in his body, his fists clenched and his eyes flashing with anger. She knew that look, and she knew what it meant. As Alex approached their table, Travis got up and excused himself to go to the men's room. Charlie smiled and chatted with Alex, feeling a sense of freedom wash over her. But as Travis walked back to the table, Charlie could see the rage building in his eyes. He saw red, his fists clenched and his body tense, ready to tear Alex apart. Charlie quickly stood up and positioned herself between them, taking one of Travis's hands in hers. "We're just friends," she said, trying to sound calm. "He's leaving." Travis's eyes flashed with anger, but he seemed to control himself, nodding curtly at Alex as he walked away. Charlie breathed a sigh of relief as they watched Alex leave, but she knew that she had just dodged a bullet. As they walked back to her apartment, the tension between them was palpable. Charlie could feel the anger and resentment building inside Travis, and she knew that she was in trouble. As soon as they stepped inside, the argument began. Travis was furious, his words cutting and hurtful. Charlie tried to defend herself, but he just got angrier. In the heat of the moment, Charlie didn't realize what was happening. Travis grabbed her, holding her hands above her head as he backed her against the wall. Charlie tried to struggle, but he was too strong. The next thing she knew, he was inside her, his body moving against hers with a violence that left her breathless. Charlie was shocked and scared, but she knew she had to get him off her. As he finished, she slapped him hard, yelling at him to get out. Travis stumbled backward, his eyes flashing with anger. Charlie didn't care. She was so upset that a big wave of nausea washed over her, and she ran to her bathroom to throw up. She didn't think much of it, just assumed it was her stomach reacting to the argument. But as she stood there, her head spinning and her body aching, Charlie couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She had no idea what, or why, but she felt a sense of unease growing inside her. And she knew that she was in grave danger, trapped in a web of deceit and manipulation, with no way out.
