Chapter 11: Morning After
Part 10
Morning light crept through the windows, casting a warm glow over Kenzy and Levi's entwined bodies. The air was thick with the scent of sweat and desire, a potent reminder of the night they had just shared. Kenzy slowly came to, her body heavy with the weight of their passion. As she turned her head, Levi's face came into view. His eyes were closed, his chest rising and falling with a gentle rhythm. Kenzy's heart swelled with emotion as she gazed at him, her fingers tracing the lines of his jaw. She couldn't believe how far they had come, how much they had overcome to be where they were now. The sound of her phone buzzing broke the silence, and Kenzy groggily reached over to silence it. She pulled back, blinking sleepily at the screen. A text from her best friend, Sarah, flashed on the screen, reading "Hey girl, hope you're doing well! Pick me up from work at 2?" Kenzy smiled, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She had completely forgotten that she was supposed to pick Sarah up from work that day. She slipped out of bed, careful not to wake Levi, and made her way to the bathroom to shower and get ready. The water cascaded down her skin, washing away the remnants of their passion. As she showered, Kenzy's mind wandered back to the night before. She couldn't believe how much she had let go, how much she had given in to Levi's desires. It scared her, but it also exhilarated her. She emerged from the shower, her hair damp and her skin feeling refreshed. Levi was still asleep, his chest rising and falling with a peaceful rhythm. Kenzy smiled, feeling a rush of love for this man who had captured her heart. She slipped into a pair of jeans and a tank top, her phone buzzing with notifications as she got dressed. Her eyes scanned the room, taking in the familiar sight of Levi's clothes scattered across the floor. She felt a pang of guilt, knowing that she had to leave him soon. As she made her way to the kitchen to make some coffee, Kenzy's mind began to wander. She had to pick Sarah up from work, and then there was the issue of her parents and their upcoming visit. Kenzy wasn't sure how she would balance her new relationship with Levi and her responsibilities. She poured herself a cup of coffee, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. The morning light streaming through the windows seemed to illuminate everything, making her feel hopeful and renewed. Just as she was about to take a sip, Levi appeared behind her, his arms wrapping around her waist. "Morning," he whispered, his breath hot against her neck. Kenzy shivered, feeling his warmth seep into her bones. "Morning," she replied, turning to face him. Levi's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "I take it you're feeling better today?" he asked, his voice low and husky. Kenzy nodded, feeling a sense of trepidation. She had a feeling that today would be a big day, one that would change everything. And as she looked into Levi's eyes, she knew that she was ready to face whatever came next. "I'm feeling great," she lied, trying to sound more confident than she felt. Levi raised an eyebrow, but he didn't push the issue. Instead, he leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips. "I'm glad to hear that," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "I was thinking we could grab some breakfast together." Kenzy smiled, feeling a rush of excitement at the prospect of spending more time with Levi. "That sounds perfect," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. As they sat down to eat, Kenzy's phone buzzed with another notification. This time, it was from her mom, checking in to see if she was free to talk. Kenzy's heart sank, knowing that she had to face her parents soon. She took a deep breath, trying to steel herself for the conversation that was to come. Levi's eyes met hers, and he seemed to sense her unease. "Hey, everything okay?" he asked, his voice low and soothing. Kenzy nodded, trying to play it cool. "Yeah, everything's fine. I just need to deal with some stuff today." Levi's expression turned serious, and he reached out to take her hand. "You can handle it," he said, his voice full of confidence. "I'm here for you, no matter what." Kenzy smiled, feeling a rush of gratitude towards Levi. She knew that she could face anything as long as he was by her side.
