The Unexpected Twist
Part 7
Elizabeth's smile grew wider as she leaned forward, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "I think I may have misled you just a bit, Iris," she said, her voice low and mysterious. "Leslie Link is not the third Link I was thinking of." I felt a surge of disappointment, but Elizabeth's expression was too playful for me to stay disheartened for long. "Oh?" I said, raising an eyebrow. "Then who is the third Link?" Elizabeth's smile grew even wider as she reached out and drew a third hand on the paper. The hand was similar to the first two, with the same intricate patterns and symbols etched into the palm. But as I looked closer, I noticed that the lines on this hand were slightly different, and the symbols seemed to be arranged in a unique pattern. "Meet the third Link," Elizabeth said, her voice triumphant. "The first name of this Link starts with S, has five letters, and is almost exclusively given to females." I studied the hand, trying to make sense of the information. A five-letter name starting with S, almost exclusively given to females... Suddenly, a name popped into my head. "Could it be... Sasha?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Elizabeth's eyes sparkled with amusement as she nodded. "That's correct, Iris," she said. "Sasha Link is the third Link. And I think you'll find that his story is quite... fascinating." I felt a surge of excitement as I looked at the hand again. Sasha Link... I couldn't think of a male with that name, and I was pretty sure it was almost exclusively given to females. But Elizabeth's expression was dead serious, and I knew I had to trust her. "I think I know now," I said, my voice filled with conviction. "The pattern behind the Links' disappearances... it's not just about their names or their connections to each other. It's about their stories, their backgrounds, and the authors who created them." Elizabeth's smile grew even wider as she nodded. "You're getting close, Iris," she said. "But there's still more to uncover. Are you ready to dig deeper and find out what's really going on?"
