"Uncovering the Truth"
Part 17
As I walked through the darkness with the four hotels, I couldn't shake off the feeling that we were missing something crucial. We had followed Harry into the woods, but the darkness had obscured our view, and we couldn't see what he was doing with the hoe. We had tried to follow him, but he had disappeared into the night, leaving us with more questions than answers. "I don't like this," Hilton Queen of Sheba said, her voice low and concerned. "We need to get back to the house and regroup." "Agreed," Royal Beach said. "We can't see anything in this darkness, and we don't want to get lost in the woods." "Let's go back to the house and check the cup we took from Harry's house," Dan suggested. "Maybe we can find something that will lead us to the truth." Herods nodded. "I have a laboratory in my hotel. We can take the cup there and run some tests." We quickly made our way back to the house, the cup safely tucked away in our possession. Once we arrived, we headed straight to the laboratory, our hearts racing with anticipation. As we entered the laboratory, the four hotels began to examine the cup, running various tests and checking for any signs of poison. I watched anxiously as they worked, my mind racing with possibilities. "Okay, let's start with a toxicity test," Hilton Queen of Sheba said, picking up a small device. "And I'll check for any residue," Royal Beach added, taking out a small container. "I'll run a spectrographic analysis," Dan said, setting up a machine. "And I'll check for any fingerprints," Herods added, taking out a small kit. As they worked, I couldn't help but think about Harry and our childhood friendship. Could it really be him who was behind the poisoning? After a few minutes, the four hotels gathered around a small table, their faces grim. "What is it?" I asked, my heart pounding in my chest. Hilton Queen of Sheba hesitated before speaking. "The cup... it matches the recipe we found." My heart skipped a beat. "What do you mean?" Royal Beach took over. "The poison in the cup is the same as the one described in the recipe. And... and it's the same cup we drank from at Harry's house a couple of days before... before we died." I felt like I had been punched in the gut. The four hotels and I exchanged a shocked glance. "Oh no," Dan whispered. "He poisoned us." Herods's voice cracked. "Our childhood friend." I burst into tears, and the four hotels enveloped me in a tight hug. "I'm so sorry, Noa," Hilton Queen of Sheba whispered. "We should have seen it coming." "It's not your fault," I sobbed. "We didn't know." Royal Beach pulled back and looked at me, her eyes red-rimmed. "We have to tell the police." Dan nodded. "But first, let's just hold each other. We need to process this." Herods kissed my forehead. "We're in this together, Noa. Always." As we hugged and kissed, tears streaming down our faces, I knew that our friendship was stronger than ever. "We'll get through this," I whispered. "We will," Hilton Queen of Sheba replied. "Together." In that moment, I knew that nothing could ever break our bond. We had been through death and back, and we had come out stronger on the other side. As we stood there, holding each other, I knew that justice would be served, and Harry would pay for his crimes. But for now, I just wanted to hold my friends close and never let them go.
