A Night Out in the Real World

Part 7

It had been a while since I'd last taken a break from the script, and Rafael suggested we take a step back and get to know each other outside of the studio. I agreed, and we made plans to meet up for dinner at a quaint little restaurant in the city. As I got ready, I felt a flutter of excitement in my chest. I chose a beautiful white dress that hugged my curves in all the right places, and did my hair in loose waves. I couldn't help but feel a little nervous as I checked myself in the mirror. When I arrived at the restaurant, Rafael was already there, sitting at a cozy table by the window. He stood up as I approached, and his eyes widened in appreciation as he took in my outfit. "You look stunning," he said, offering me his chair. I blushed and thanked him, feeling a little self-conscious but also pleased. We perused the menu, and Rafael recommended a few dishes. As we waited for our food to arrive, he told me more about his favorite spots in the city, and I shared some of my own hidden gems. When the waiter came to take our order, Rafael suggested we get some shrimps to start. "I've had them here before, and they're amazing," he said, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. I agreed, and we ordered a plate to share. But as soon as the waiter walked away, I felt a pang of doubt. I hadn't had shrimps in a while, but I knew I had an allergy to them. It wasn't severe, but it always made me feel a little off. I hesitated, wondering if I should mention it, but Rafael seemed so excited about the shrimps that I didn't want to ruin the moment. As we waited for our food, Rafael chatted animatedly about his favorite TV shows, and I found myself laughing and joking with him. But when the shrimps arrived, I felt my stomach start to tighten. I tried to brush it off, but as soon as I took a bite, I knew I was in trouble. My skin started to itch, and my mouth felt a little numb. Rafael noticed the change in my expression and asked if everything was okay. I tried to play it off, but he could tell something was wrong. "What's going on?" he asked, concern etched on his face. I took a deep breath and confessed. "I have an allergy to shrimps," I said, feeling a little embarrassed. Rafael's face lit up with surprise, and then he jumped into action. "I'm so sorry," he said, grabbing the waiter and asking him to bring us some antihistamines. "I had no idea." As we waited for the medication to arrive, Rafael took care of me, fetching me a glass of water and making sure I was comfortable. I was touched by his kindness, and I realized that this was exactly what I needed – a night out with someone who genuinely cared about me. As the night wore on, and the itching subsided, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this chance encounter. Who knew that a simple dinner date could turn into something so much more?
