"A Spark of Electricity"
Part 3
As the day wore on, Pam found herself growing more and more distracted by Dr. Covac's presence. She tried to focus on her work, but she couldn't help sneaking glances at him as he moved through the ER, his confident stride and gentle bedside manner drawing admiring glances from patients and colleagues alike. Just as she was starting to feel like she was getting her bearings, a loud crash echoed through the ER, followed by a flurry of activity as the trauma team rushed to respond to a new emergency. Pam's heart skipped a beat as she saw Dr. Covac spring into action, his eyes locked intently on the incoming patient. Without hesitation, Pam followed him to the trauma bay, her adrenaline surging as she took in the scene. A young man, probably in his early twenties, lay on the stretcher, his face bloody and bruised. Dr. Covac quickly assessed the situation, his voice calm and authoritative as he barked orders to the team. Pam fell into step beside him, her training kicking in as she helped to stabilize the patient. As they worked, she felt a sense of calm wash over her, despite the chaos around them. It was as if Dr. Covac's presence had somehow steadied her, allowing her to focus on the task at hand. As they worked to save the young man's life, Pam couldn't help but steal glances at Dr. Covac, marveling at the way he moved with a quiet confidence, his eyes never leaving the patient. She felt a surge of admiration for him, mixed with a growing sense of attraction. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the patient was stabilized, and the ER began to quiet down. Dr. Covac turned to Pam, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. "Thanks for your help back there," he said, his voice low and smooth. "You're a great nurse." Pam felt a flutter in her chest as she smiled back at him. "Thanks, Doctor," she said, trying to sound casual despite the butterflies in her stomach. As they stood there, the tension between them was palpable, and Pam couldn't help but wonder if Dr. Covac felt it too. She was about to find out, as Dr. Ross strolled over to them, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Well, well, well," he said, his voice dripping with amusement. "Look at you two, working together like a well-oiled machine. I think we might have a new dynamic duo on our hands." Pam felt her face heat up as she glanced at Dr. Covac, who was watching her with a hint of a smile. "I think we make a pretty good team," he said, his eyes never leaving hers. Pam's heart skipped a beat as she met his gaze, the spark of electricity between them growing stronger by the second. She had a feeling that her life was about to get a lot more interesting.
