**Arrival in Blackstone Village**

Part 2

As Sir Valoric rode his horse through the darkness, the messenger boy leading the way, the village of Blackstone finally came into view. The thatched roofs of the cottages were visible, and the sound of murmured conversations carried on the wind. The young knight's excitement grew as he dismounted his horse and approached the village elder, Thorne, who stood waiting for him. Thorne, a wise and aged man with a kind face, greeted Sir Valoric warmly. "Ah, young knight, thank the gods you've arrived. We've been plagued by a terror beyond our wildest imagination. A dragon woman, no bigger than a large dog, with scales as black as coal and eyes that glow like embers. She's been attacking our village for months, burning our homes and crops, and slaying our people." Sir Valoric's eyes widened as he listened to Thorne's tale. He had faced dragons before, but never one so small and mysterious. He felt a surge of determination and asked, "Tell me, where can I find this dragon woman?" Thorne nodded gravely. "She's been spotted in a cave system on the outskirts of our lands. But be warned, Sir Valoric, she's cunning and quick. She's been toying with us, leaving us little gifts and messages. She's not just a mindless beast, but a calculating foe." As Thorne finished speaking, a commotion broke out at the edge of the village. The villagers parted, and a plump and well-endowed short stack dragon woman emerged from the shadows. Her scales glistened in the moonlight, and her eyes sparkled with mischief. She was no bigger than a large dog, but her presence was undeniable. The dragon woman, whose name was Scorch, strutted forward, her tail swishing behind her. She regarded Sir Valoric with a sly grin, her eyes gleaming with amusement. "Ah, the famous Sir Valoric, I've heard so much about you. I must say, I'm underwhelmed." Scorch puffed out her chest, her scales glinting as she did so. "I'll give you a chance to prove yourself, knight. Meet me in my cave, and let's see if you're worthy of facing me. But be warned, I'm not just a pretty face. I'm a force to be reckoned with." With that, Scorch turned and waddled away, her short legs moving quickly as she disappeared into the darkness. Sir Valoric watched her go, a mixture of excitement and trepidation building in his chest. He knew that this would be a battle unlike any he had ever faced before.
