**Struggling to Get Back on Track**
Part 3
Miles tried his best to rest and get better, but his mind kept wandering to the repairs that still needed to get done. He could almost hear the airlock's seals creaking, the gravity compensator's motors whining, and the food synthesizer's machinery grinding to a halt. The thought of the station's systems failing was keeping him up at night, and he couldn't shake off the feeling of responsibility. As he lay on the couch, Julian checked on him regularly, bringing him food and medication, and monitoring his progress. Miles appreciated the doctor's care, but he couldn't help but feel like he was abandoning his duties. The repairs were piling up, and he was stuck in bed, unable to do anything about it. Just as Miles was starting to drift off to sleep, his comm badge beeped. He groggily reached for it, and a voice from Operations came through, requesting his presence at a meeting with Commander Sisko. Miles' heart sank as he read the message on the comms screen. He was supposed to meet with Commander Sisko and Chief O'Brien to discuss the repairs, but he was still feeling terrible. Julian walked into the room, a concerned look on his face. "Miles, I think you should stay in bed. You're not getting any better," he said, trying to persuade him to stay put. But Miles knew he couldn't avoid the meeting. He struggled to get up from the couch, his body weak and shaky. Julian noticed his struggle and quickly came to his side. "Miles, you can't go to that meeting. You're not well enough," he said firmly. Just then, Commander Sisko's voice came through the comms system again, this time more insistently. "Miles, I need you at this meeting. We can't afford to fall any further behind on the repairs." Miles felt a surge of anxiety. He knew he had to be there, but Julian was right – he wasn't well enough. The doctor tried to intervene, explaining Miles' condition to the commander, but Sisko was adamant that Miles attend the meeting. With a heavy sigh, Miles nodded at Julian. "I have to go," he said, trying to stand up again. This time, Julian didn't argue. Instead, he helped Miles get dressed and escorted him to the meeting room. As they walked, Miles felt a wave of dizziness wash over him. He stumbled, and Julian quickly grabbed his arm to steady him. "Maybe we should postpone this meeting," he suggested. But Commander Sisko's voice came through the comms system once more, his tone firm but concerned. "Miles, I need you here. Now." Miles took a deep breath and nodded at Julian. "I'm fine," he lied, trying to reassure him. The doctor looked skeptical, but he accompanied Miles to the meeting room anyway. When they arrived, Miles saw Chief O'Brien and Commander Sisko already seated at the table. He forced a weak smile and took a seat, trying to look more capable than he felt. Commander Sisko looked him up and down, his expression concerned. "Miles, I'm glad you could make it. We're falling behind on the repairs, and I need to know what's going on." Miles nodded, trying to gather his thoughts. He knew he had to focus, but his body seemed to have other plans. As he opened his mouth to speak, a dizzy spell washed over him, and he felt himself swaying. Julian quickly moved to his side, helping him sit down. "Maybe we should get you back to bed, Miles," he suggested. But Commander Sisko shook his head. "No, we need him here. Miles, can you give me a status report on the repairs?" Miles took a deep breath and began to speak, trying to summarize the situation, but he could feel his energy flagging. He knew he had to get through this meeting, but his body seemed to be working against him.
