**Unforeseen Complications**
Part 5
As the night drew to a close, Gihun instructed the group to switch beds, making sure they were all within proximity of each other. "We take shifts keeping watch," he explained, his voice low and serious. "We don't know what kind of threats we might face in here." Jongwoo raised an eyebrow but complied, moving his bed to be next to his group. Junbae and Youngil seemed to take the watch rotation seriously, while Daeho's gaze lingered on Jongwoo, his eyes never quite leaving his face. The night passed in a blur, and before Jongwoo knew it, the lights were flickering back to life. The group quickly got dressed, and they were led out of the room, their stomachs growling with hunger. They were herded to a large open area, where a makeshift stage had been set up. "Today's game requires teamwork," a disembodied voice announced, echoing off the walls. "You will form teams of five. No more, no less." The group looked at each other, counting heads. They had just enough people. As they were about to form their team, a girl walked up, her voice hesitant. "Um, excuse me... may I join your team?" Jongwoo had his back turned, but as soon as he heard the voice, he jumped, his heart racing. He turned to see his ex-girlfriend, Soo-jin, standing before them, a sheepish expression on her face. "Jongwoo, I... I didn't know you were here," she said, her eyes wide with surprise. Jongwoo's jaw dropped, and Soo-jin's eyes widened in shock as she took in the group. "I saw you fighting with those players yesterday... I had no idea you were with this group." Soo-jin glanced down, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm pregnant, Jongwoo. I was wondering if... if I could join your team." The group gasped, their faces a mixture of shock and surprise. Daeho's expression darkened, his voice cold. "No, she can't join us. We have enough players already." Gihun placed a hand on Daeho's arm, his voice calm. "Wait, Daeho. She's pregnant." Daeho's gaze didn't waver, his eyes fixed on Jongwoo. "I don't care. She can't join us." Jongwoo took a deep breath, his voice measured. "Soo-jin is... my ex. And it's my baby." The group's reactions ranged from shock to stunned silence. Daeho's face twisted in anger, but Jongwoo could see the gears turning in his mind. Youngil nodded, his voice a gentle murmur. "Whatever Gihun decides is fine with me." Junbae nodded in agreement, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. Gihun's gaze lingered on Daeho before he spoke. "Alright, let's add her to the team." Daeho's expression remained skeptical, but he reluctantly agreed. Jongwoo felt a pang of guilt as he turned to Soo-jin. "I'm sorry, but I think it's best if I find a new team. This could get complicated." Soo-jin nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. After some shuffling, Jongwoo found a new team, and they were led to the game area. The game was explained to be a six-legged race, with each player having to complete a task within a five-minute time frame. Jongwoo's new team worked seamlessly together, and they managed to complete the tasks just in time. As Jongwoo waited nervously for the other teams to finish, he couldn't help but think of Soo-jin and the complications she had brought into his life. Finally, his old team returned, looking relieved and shaken. Jongwoo breathed a sigh of relief as they walked back into the room, grateful that they had all made it through the game unscathed.
