"A Web of Confessions"
Part 204
Hawks then says “hmmm I don’t know it sounds nice though”, his voice low and contemplative, as if he was weighing the pros and cons of joining the list of my confessors. Mina's eyes sparkled with excitement as she watched the exchange, her grin growing even wider. Shindo, however, seemed less than thrilled with Hawks' response. He pulled me even closer to him, his grip on me tightening as if he was staking his claim. I felt a surge of warmth as his chest pressed against mine, his heartbeat steady and strong. Mina's eyes flicked to Shindo, her expression mischievous. "Oh, Shindo's getting possessive," she teased, her voice rising in amusement. Shindo's eyes never left mine, his gaze burning with intensity. "I'm just making sure Vesper's safe," he said, his voice low and even. Hawks' eyes flicked to Shindo, a hint of amusement dancing in his eyes. "Safe from what?" he asked, his voice laced with curiosity. Mina chimed in, her voice playful. "From Hawks' charming advances, of course!" I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as Hawks' eyes met mine, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "I don't think I need to try too hard," he said, his voice low and smooth. "Vesper's already got a soft spot for me." Shindo's grip on me tightened, his arms wrapping around me like a vice. I felt a flutter in my chest as I met his gaze, his eyes burning with a possessive intensity. Mina laughed, her voice ringing out across the room. "Oh, this is getting good! The drama is escalating!" The air was thick with tension as Hawks, Shindo, and I locked eyes, the unspoken question hanging in the air. What would happen next? Would Hawks make his move, or would Shindo's possessiveness be enough to keep him at bay? As the silence stretched out, I felt Shindo's chest rise and fall against mine, his heartbeat steady and strong. I knew that I was safe with him, but a part of me wondered what would happen if Hawks decided to make his move. Would I be able to resist his charms, or would I find myself succumbing to his advances? The uncertainty hung in the air, a palpable force that seemed to draw us all in. I held my breath, waiting to see what would happen next, as the drama continued to unfold.
