"Twenty-Four Weeks and Counting"
Part 39
Twenty-four weeks had passed since Ashley and Avan had seen their baby on the ultrasound screen for the first time, and now the day of the highly anticipated gender reveal had finally arrived. Ashley felt like she was bursting with excitement as she got dressed and ready for the appointment, Avan by her side. They had decided to find out the sex of their baby together, and Ashley couldn't wait to share the moment with Avan. As they walked into the hospital, Ashley couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over her. It seemed like just yesterday they were finding out they were having a baby, and now they were almost halfway to meeting their little one. The waiting room was filled with familiar faces, and Ashley and Avan took a seat, chatting with the other expectant parents. Before long, a nurse called out Ashley's name, and they made their way to the ultrasound room once again. The technician, a friendly woman with a warm smile, greeted them and began to explain the procedure. As the technician applied the gel to Ashley's stomach and began to move the wand over her skin, Ashley felt a sense of anticipation build up inside her. This was it – they were finally going to find out if they were having a boy or a girl. The machine beeped and whirred, and suddenly, a grainy image appeared on the screen. Ashley's eyes widened as she saw their baby's tiny features on the monitor. The technician smiled and began to explain what she was looking at. "Okay, let's take a look at the baby's...ah...genitals," the technician said with a smile. "And...it's a...boy!" Ashley and Avan exchanged a glance, both of them beaming with excitement. Ashley's eyes welled up with tears as she turned to Avan, her voice trembling. "We're having a boy!" Avan wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. "We're having a boy!" he exclaimed, his voice full of emotion. The technician handed them a few photos and a box with a blue balloon inside. "Congratulations, you two. You're going to be amazing parents to a little boy!" As they left the hospital, Ashley turned to Avan, her eyes shining with tears. "We're having a boy," she repeated, still in awe. Avan smiled and handed her the blue balloon. "Let's celebrate," he said, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Together, they released the blue balloon into the air, watching as it soared above them. Ashley felt a sense of joy and wonder wash over her. They were having a boy, and their lives were about to change forever.
