**Chapter 4: Small Gestures**

Part 4

Days turned into weeks, and Kian was slowly starting to find his footing again. He still missed Miles, but the pain was no longer suffocating. He had started to attend classes again, and his friends had been supportive, trying to get him to join them for outings and hangouts. However, Kian was still hesitant, unsure if he was ready to face the world again. One day, as Kian was walking down the hallway, he noticed a bouquet of roses on his locker. He was taken aback, unsure who could have sent them. He didn't recognize the flowers, but they were beautiful, and the card attached to them read: "Thinking of you". Kian's heart skipped a beat as he wondered who could have sent them. The next day, Kian found a love letter in his locker. It was a simple note, but it was heartfelt and sincere. The letter read: "I know you're hurting right now, but I want you to know that I'm here for you. I care about you deeply, and I want to be there to support you." Kian's eyes welled up with tears as he read the note. He didn't know who was behind these gestures, but it was clear that they were trying to comfort him. Over the next few days, Kian received more small gifts and notes. Someone would often buy him coffee or lunch, and he would find sweet messages on his phone. Kian was touched by these gestures, but he was also confused. Who was behind them? And why were they being so kind to him? Jian, Miles' friend, was watching Kian from afar, smiling to himself as he saw the impact of his small gestures. He had decided to take a chance and try to win Kian's heart, and it seemed to be working. Jian had always been drawn to Kian's kindness and vulnerability, and he was determined to show him that he could treat him better than Miles ever could. As Jian continued to shower Kian with attention, he started to notice that Kian was slowly coming out of his shell. Kian would smile when he saw Jian, and he would engage in conversations with him. Jian was encouraged by these small interactions, and he knew that he was on the right track. One day, Jian decided to take a chance and approach Kian in the hallway. "Hey, Kian, how are you doing?" Jian asked, trying to sound casual. Kian looked up, surprised, and Jian could see the hesitation in his eyes. "I'm doing okay, I guess," Kian replied, his voice soft. Jian smiled and nodded. "I'm glad to hear that. I was thinking, maybe we could grab coffee sometime? I want to make sure you're doing okay." Kian looked at Jian, unsure, but Jian could see the spark of interest in his eyes. "Maybe," Kian said, his voice barely above a whisper. Jian grinned, feeling a sense of excitement. He knew that he had a long way to go, but he was willing to take the chance. He would do whatever it took to win Kian's heart, and he was determined to prove to him that he was the one he deserved. As Jian walked away, he couldn't help but feel a sense of hope. Maybe, just maybe, he could help Kian heal and find happiness again. And maybe, Kian would see him in a different light, as someone who truly cared about him. The game was on, and Jian was ready to play.
