Celebrating Life's New Beginnings
Part 44
Weeks had passed since Ashley and Alev finished preparing the nursery, and now, at 30 weeks pregnant, Ashley was excited to celebrate the upcoming arrival of their baby with friends and family. The day of the baby shower had finally arrived, and Ashley's nerves were on edge as she got ready. Alev had insisted on taking care of the preparations, and she had no idea what to expect. As she finished getting dressed, Alev walked into the room, looking handsome in a light blue shirt and dark jeans. "You look beautiful," he said, handing her a bouquet of flowers. "I'm so proud of you, Ash." Ashley blushed, feeling a little self-conscious but also grateful for Alev's love and support. "Thanks, I feel like I'm going to burst," she said, rubbing her belly. Alev chuckled and took her hand. "I know, but it's almost time. Let's get going, we don't want to be late for the party." As they arrived at the venue, Ashley was struck by the beautiful decorations and the number of people gathered. There were balloons, streamers, and a big banner that read "Welcome Baby Boy!" in bold letters. Ashley's friends, Rachel and Emily, rushed over to hug her, followed by Alev's colleagues and friends. The room was filled with the sound of chatter and laughter, and Ashley felt a little overwhelmed but also happy to see so many people she loved. Alev took her hand and led her to the refreshments table, where a delicious spread of food and drinks was laid out. As they mingled and chatted with the guests, Ashley couldn't help but feel grateful for the love and support surrounding her. Suddenly, Rachel stood up and grabbed the microphone. "Okay, everyone, let's get started! We have games, gifts, and plenty of fun activities planned for today." The room erupted in cheers and applause, and Ashley felt a little anxious but also excited. She knew this was a special moment, and she was grateful to have Alev by her side. As the games and activities began, Ashley found herself laughing and having a great time. She was surprised by how much she enjoyed the company of her friends and family, and how much she loved the attention. But as the afternoon wore on, Ashley started to feel a little uncomfortable. She was getting tired, and her back was starting to ache. Alev noticed her discomfort and quickly came to her side. "Are you okay, Ash?" he asked, concern etched on his face. Ashley nodded, trying to brush it off. "I'm fine, just a little tired." But Alev wasn't convinced. He took her hand and led her to a quiet corner of the room, where he sat down with her on a couch. "You need to take it easy, Ash," he said, his voice firm but gentle. "You're not going to overexert yourself, not today." Ashley smiled, feeling a little grateful for Alev's protectiveness. She knew he was just trying to take care of her, and she appreciated it. As they sat there, surrounded by the love and laughter of their friends and family, Ashley felt a sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she was ready for this new chapter in her life, and she was grateful to have Alev by her side.
