"A New Beginning"

Part 18

As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, Nia and Jon both knew that they had a lot to discuss, but they also knew that they wanted to savor this moment, to enjoy the happiness that radiated between them. They decided to keep the proposal a secret, at least for the time being, until the shoot was over and they could start making plans for their future together. They both agreed that they wanted a small, intimate wedding, with only close friends and family in attendance. The next few weeks flew by in a blur of work and excitement. Nia and Jon continued to work on the shoot, their chemistry on set undeniable. They would steal glances at each other, their eyes locking in a way that made Nia's heart skip a beat. She couldn't help but feel like she was walking on air, her engagement a secret that she couldn't wait to share with the world. But as the days turned into weeks, Nia started to notice that something was off. She hadn't gotten her period in two weeks, and work had been so busy that she hadn't even realized it. At first, she brushed it off as stress or a change in her routine, but as the days went by, she started to feel a nagging sense of unease. One morning, as she was getting ready for the day, Nia caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror and felt a wave of panic wash over her. Could it be? She hadn't been on birth control, and she and Jon had been...active. She pushed the thought aside, telling herself she was being paranoid, but the seed of doubt had been planted. That night, as she and Jon were wrapping up the shoot, Nia found herself feeling anxious and on edge. She tried to push the thoughts out of her mind, but they lingered, refusing to be silenced. As they packed up their gear and said their goodbyes, Nia couldn't help but wonder if her life was about to take a dramatic turn. As they drove back to their place, Jon reached out and took her hand, his eyes locked onto hers. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice low and concerned. Nia hesitated, unsure of how to broach the subject. "I...I just realized I haven't gotten my period in two weeks," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. Jon's expression changed, his eyes narrowing as he processed the information. "Do you think...?" he started to ask, but Nia cut him off. "I don't know," she said, feeling a sense of uncertainty wash over her. "I just don't know." Jon squeezed her hand, his eyes filled with reassurance. "We'll figure it out together," he said. "Whatever it is, we'll face it together." Nia smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. She knew that she had made the right decision in saying yes, and now, it seemed, their future was about to get a whole lot more interesting.
