"A New Roommate...or Not"
Part 3
The note was a joke, or so it seemed, as Harry stormed into the dorm room, crumpled paper in hand, ready for a confrontation. Draco was lounging on his bed, looking far too pleased with himself, while Harry's room was still intact, with no signs of Blake's presence. "You're not serious, are you?" Harry demanded, waving the note in the air. Draco chuckled, clearly enjoying Harry's reaction. "Oh, completely serious, Potter," he said, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "I mean, why would I want to share a room with you when I can have someone far more...interesting?" Harry scowled, trying to appear angry, but a small part of him was relieved that the note had been a joke. He wasn't sure he could handle sharing a room with someone new, especially if it meant being displaced from his own space. "You're disgusting," Harry muttered, trying to sound convincing. Draco laughed, throwing off his covers and getting out of bed. "I'm just getting started, Potter," he said, strolling over to the mirror and adjusting his tie. "You might want to get used to it." As Harry watched, Draco began to get ready for the day, whistling a jaunty tune as he splashed water on his face and combed his hair. Harry couldn't help but feel a twinge of annoyance at Draco's carefree attitude. Just then, there was a knock at the door, and Draco's grin grew even wider. "Ah, that must be Blake," he said, sauntering over to the door. Harry's heart sank as Draco opened the door to reveal...Professor McGonagall. "Good morning, Mr. Malfoy," she said, her eyes narrowing as she took in the state of the room. "I trust you're not getting too...comfortable?" Draco's grin faltered for a moment, before he recovered. "Not at all, Professor," he said, his voice smooth as silk. "Just...ah...reorganizing my priorities." McGonagall's eyes lingered on Draco for a moment, before she turned to Harry. "And how are you finding your accommodations, Mr. Potter?" Harry shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. "It's fine, Professor." McGonagall nodded, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Good. I just wanted to check in with you both. Carry on, then." As the door closed behind her, Draco turned to Harry, a look of mock innocence on his face. "I think that went well, don't you, Potter?" Harry just rolled his eyes, shaking his head. He had a feeling that this year was going to be a lot more interesting than he had anticipated.
