Chapter 53: A Love So Pure
Part 52
A Love So Pure The door creaked softly as Emma and Natalie slipped into the room, their eyes fixed on the serene scene before them. Doc and Myra lay sleeping in a single bed, their bodies entwined in a loving embrace. Doc's arms wrapped protectively around Myra, holding her close as if he would never let her go. The sight took Emma and Natalie's breath away, and they couldn't help but giggle at the adorable scene. As they stood there, frozen in the doorway, they couldn't help but notice the genuine love radiating from the couple. It was a love that was palpable, a love that made you believe in fairy tales and happily ever afters. Emma's eyes shone with happiness as she gazed at the couple, her heart swelling with joy for her friends. Natalie's expression, however, was a little more complex. As she gazed at Doc and Myra, she felt a pang of nostalgia wash over her. She closed her eyes, memories of her own time with Doc flooding her mind. They had dated, but it had never felt like this. There had never been that spark, that chemistry that seemed to crackle between Doc and Myra. Natalie had always thought that she and Doc had a good thing going, but now she wasn't so sure. As she stood there, lost in thought, Natalie couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy towards Myra. She had always known that Doc was a great guy, but she had never seen him like this before. She had never seen him so happy, so in love. But as she opened her eyes and gazed at Emma, who was still smiling at her, Natalie's thoughts shifted. She realized that she was probably better off with Emma. They had their own thing going, their own love that was unique and special in its own way. Emma made her feel seen and heard in a way that no one else ever had. Natalie's heart swelled with love for her girlfriend, and she felt grateful to have found her. Emma caught Natalie's eye and smiled, and Natalie smiled back, feeling a sense of contentment wash over her. They stood there for a moment, taking in the scene before them, and then Emma mouthed "we'll talk about this later" to Natalie. Natalie nodded, and they quietly slipped out of the room, leaving Doc and Myra to their peaceful slumber. As they stepped out into the hallway, Emma turned to Natalie and whispered, "What do you think? Are they happy?" Natalie smiled, her eyes shining with happiness. "They're more than happy, Em. They're in love." Emma grinned, and the two of them slipped off down the hallway, giggling and whispering to each other.
