"Crossing the Line"
Part 2
Katsuki couldn't resist the opportunity to test Izuku's reaction again, especially during their training exercises. As they faced off in the simulation room, Katsuki found himself edging closer to Izuku, his movements fluid and deliberate. Izuku, sensing his presence, spun around, his eyes narrowing. The training exercise was a simulated battle, with Katsuki and Izuku paired against each other. Their Quirk abilities crackled with energy as they clashed, Katsuki's Explosion Quirk propelling him forward in a burst of speed and power. Izuku countered with One For All, his movements swift and precise. As they exchanged blows, Katsuki found himself inching closer, his eyes locked on Izuku's face. He could see the tension building in Izuku's shoulders, the way his eyes darted towards him with a mix of anticipation and wariness. In a flash of inspiration, Katsuki reached out and grasped Izuku's arm, his fingers wrapping around it like a cuff. "Good boy," he whispered, his breath hot against Izuku's ear. For a moment, Izuku's eyes flashed with that familiar spark, but it was quickly extinguished. His face went blank, and he pulled away from Katsuki with a jerky movement. The rest of the training exercise was a blur, Izuku's usual enthusiasm and energy replaced by a distant, almost mechanical performance. Katsuki tried to reach out to him again, but Izuku dodged his attempts, his eyes guarded. As they finished up and headed back to their dorm, Aizawa Shouta, their teacher, watched them with a discerning eye. He rubbed his temples, a headache brewing. "Izuku, what's going on?" Aizawa asked, his voice low and even. "You seemed...off out there. And Katsuki, what's with the whispering?" Izuku shook his head, his face still guarded. "Nothing, sir. Just a little...off today, that's all." Aizawa's gaze lingered on Izuku, then shifted to Katsuki, who was watching Izuku with a mixture of confusion and concern. Aizawa's headache worsened. "Katsuki, I need to talk to you about your behavior around Izuku. And Izuku, I need to talk to you about...whatever's going on with you. Both of you, report to my office after dinner." As they walked away, Katsuki caught Izuku's eye, but Izuku just looked away, his expression still distant. Katsuki's mind whirled with questions. What had just happened? And how was he going to get Izuku to open up to him again? The tension between them was palpable, and Katsuki couldn't shake the feeling that he'd crossed a line. He'd never intended to push Izuku away, but it seemed that's exactly what he'd done. As they parted ways for the day, Katsuki couldn't help but wonder what he'd do differently next time. Would he be able to find a way to reach Izuku again, or had he lost his chance? The uncertainty gnawed at him, leaving him with a sense of unease that lingered long after they'd gone their separate ways.
