Enemies at First Sight
Part 1
Regina Mills, a famous singer known for her powerful voice and chart-topping hits, stood in her luxurious living room, staring at the man who was about to become her new bodyguard. Robin of Locksley, a former pirate with a rugged past, looked like he belonged in a medieval tavern, not in her sleek, modern home. His piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into her soul, and Regina felt a shiver run down her spine. "So, you're my new bodyguard," Regina said, trying to sound casual despite the sudden flutter in her chest. "Aye, that's me," Robin replied, his deep voice low and rough. "I'll be keepin' you safe from all the crazies out there." Regina raised an eyebrow. "I can take care of myself, you know." Robin snorted. "I'm sure you think you can, but trust me, love, you need protection. You've got a lot of overzealous fans out there who'd do just about anything to get close to you." Regina huffed, feeling a bit annoyed by his condescending tone. "I've had bodyguards before, I can handle it." Robin shrugged. "Suit yourself, but I'm here to do a job, and I intend to do it." The tension between them was palpable, and Regina couldn't help but notice the way Robin's eyes seemed to roam over her body, taking in every curve and contour. She felt a flush rise to her cheeks, and quickly looked away, trying to compose herself. As they stood there, Regina couldn't help but think about her music career, which was about to take off in a big way. She had been writing songs non-stop, and her team was pushing her to perform at more events and concerts. The thought of being in the spotlight all the time was exhilarating, but also terrifying. She knew she needed Robin to keep her safe, but she wasn't sure if she was ready for the level of protection he seemed to think she needed. "I suppose you're going to be following me everywhere, then?" Regina asked, trying to sound nonchalant. "Everywhere," Robin replied, his eyes glinting with a hint of amusement. "You'll be stuck with me like glue, love." Regina rolled her eyes. "This is going to be a long day." As they began to discuss the details of their working relationship, Regina couldn't help but steal glances at Robin, who seemed to be studying her with equal intensity. Despite their rocky start, Regina felt a spark of attraction that she couldn't ignore. She pushed the thought aside, focusing on the task at hand. For now, she just needed to get used to having Robin around. "I want you to know that I'm not some damsel in distress," Regina said, trying to assert her independence. Robin chuckled. "I wouldn't dream of thinkin' that, love. You're a firecracker, I can tell." Regina smiled, feeling a small thaw in her frosty demeanor. "I suppose that's one way to put it." As they continued to banter back and forth, Regina found herself relaxing in Robin's presence, despite her initial reservations. Maybe, just maybe, this bodyguard thing wouldn't be so bad after all. But as they stood there, locked in a silent understanding, Regina couldn't shake the feeling that she was in for a wild ride with this rugged, brooding pirate-turned-bodyguard. And she wasn't sure if she was ready for what was to come.
