Chapter 8: A Choice of Consequences
Part 8
"So, what's it going to be? We take them by force, or you'll leave peacefully?" Dabi's question hung in the air, his tone laced with a mixture of amusement and menace. The League of Villains seemed to be holding its collective breath, awaiting our response. Deku and I exchanged a glance, our minds racing with the implications of each option. Bakugo, however, seemed to have already made up his mind. He took another step forward, his fists clenched and his eyes blazing with defiance. "You're not taking us anywhere," he growled. Dabi chuckled, a low, smooth sound. "Ah, I thought you'd be the difficult one, Explosion Boy. But let's be clear: we're not asking. We're telling. You have two options: leave peacefully, or... well, let's just say we have certain measures in place to ensure your cooperation." Tomura Shigaraki stepped forward, his grin growing wider. "And if you choose to resist, we'll make sure to... extract you. In one piece, or not. It makes no difference to us." The League of Villains began to close in, their movements eerily synchronized. It was clear that they were itching for a fight, and that we were running out of time. I steeled myself, trying to think of a way out of this situation. We couldn't take on the entire League of Villains, not in a straight-up fight. But we couldn't just walk away either, not when they had us right where they wanted us. Deku seemed to sense my uncertainty, and his eyes locked onto mine. I could see the determination burning within them, and I knew that he was thinking the same thing as me: we had to protect each other, no matter what. Bakugo, however, seemed to be spoiling for a fight. He cracked his knuckles, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Bring it on," he said, his voice dripping with confidence. I shot him a worried glance, but Deku just shook his head. "Not yet, Kacchan," he said. "Let's see what they do next." Dabi's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Ah, how... predictable. You think you can outsmart us? Outmaneuver us? I think not." The air seemed to vibrate with tension as the League of Villains waited for our response. It was clear that we were running out of options, and that our next move would determine the course of events. I took a deep breath, trying to think of a way out of this situation. But as I looked at Dabi, Tomura Shigaraki, and the rest of the League, I knew that our choices were limited. We could either fight, or flee. But either way, the consequences would be dire.
