"A New Chapter Unfolds"
Part 8
Four weeks had passed since the incident in Mrs. Johnson's office, and Ashley was now 12 weeks pregnant. The initial shock had worn off, and she was starting to feel more like herself again. Avan was being his usual supportive self, and Ender was over the moon with excitement. As they walked into the classroom, Ender couldn't wait to share the news with his friends. "Guess what, guys? My mommy's baby is getting bigger!" he exclaimed, holding up a drawing of a baby. The class "awww"ed in unison, and Ashley couldn't help but smile. Ender loved sharing news with the class about his baby sibling, and it was heartwarming to see him take on the role of big brother so enthusiastically. Mrs. Johnson smiled and nodded at Ashley and Avan. "I think it's time we started getting the class involved in this exciting time for your family," she said. "Ender, why don't you tell the class about the baby's due date?" Ender beamed with pride. "The baby is coming in March! And my mommy's going to have a big belly soon!" The class started asking questions, and Ender eagerly answered each one. Ashley and Avan exchanged a glance, happy to see their son so happy. As the day went on, Ender continued to share updates about the baby with his classmates. He told them about the different foods Ashley was eating, the prenatal appointments they were attending, and even the nursery they were setting up at home. Ashley and Avan were grateful for the support of their son's classmates and Mrs. Johnson. It was clear that Ender was going to have a blast being a big brother, and they were excited to see him take on this new role. At recess, Ender ran up to Ashley, his face flushed with excitement. "Mommy, Mommy! Can I make a sign for the school hallway? I want to tell everyone about the baby!" Ashley smiled and ruffled his hair. "That's a great idea, sweetie. Let's make a sign together during lunch." As they walked to the cafeteria, Avan put his arm around Ashley. "I'm so proud of Ender," he said. "He's going to be an amazing big brother." Ashley nodded in agreement. "And I'm grateful for this class. They're making this experience so much easier for us." As they sat down to eat, Ender started brainstorming ideas for the sign. "It can say 'Baby [Last Name] is coming!' and we can draw a picture of a baby!" he exclaimed. Ashley and Avan laughed, and Mrs. Johnson, who was sitting nearby, chimed in. "That sounds like a great idea, Ender. Why don't you work on the sign during lunch, and we can display it in the hallway tomorrow?" Ender grinned, already imagining the attention his sign would get. Ashley and Avan exchanged a glance, knowing that this was just the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their lives.
