A Night to Remember

Part 57

As they waited for dinner to be ready, the group chatted and laughed together, trying to find ways to pass the time. Kou, seemingly getting restless, suddenly stood up and announced, "Since dinner won't be coming for another hour, let's go to the beach." He began putting on his shoes, and the others followed suit, excited by the sudden suggestion. The beach was only a 5-minute walk away, and the group made their way there, enjoying the warm sun on their skin. As they strolled along the shoreline, Nene found herself walking alongside Amane, who was engaged in a conversation with Tsukada, his brother. Tsukada, with his charming smile, was gesturing animatedly as he spoke, while Amane listened intently, his eyes sparkling with amusement. Nene couldn't help but steal glances at the two brothers, feeling a flutter in her chest whenever their eyes met. Every time she caught Amane's eye, he would blush deeply, quickly looking away as if trying to hide his emotions. Tsukada, on the other hand, seemed completely oblivious to the tension, continuing to chat with Amane as if nothing was out of the ordinary. As they walked, the sound of the waves and the cries of seagulls filled the air, creating a lively atmosphere. The group spread out along the beach, some sitting down to enjoy the view, while others wandered off to explore. Amane and Tsukada fell behind, and Nene found herself walking alongside them, still listening in on their conversation. Amane would occasionally glance at her, his face flushing whenever their eyes met. Tsukada began telling a story about a time he and Amane had gotten lost on a hike, and Amane couldn't help but chuckle, his eyes crinkling at the corners. Nene smiled, feeling a sense of ease wash over her as she listened to the brothers' banter. As they approached a particularly picturesque spot on the beach, Kou called out, "Alright, let's take a group photo!" The group gathered together, laughing and joking as they posed for the camera. Nene found herself standing next to Amane, their shoulders almost touching. As they smiled for the photo, Nene felt a spark of electricity run through her body, and she couldn't help but wonder if Amane had felt it too. She glanced over at him, but he was already looking away, his face still flushed from the earlier blushes. The group continued to take photos and enjoy the sunset, but Nene couldn't shake off the feeling that something had shifted between her and Amane. She couldn't help but wonder what the rest of the night had in store for her. As the group began to disperse, Amane turned to her and whispered, "I'm glad we're here together." Nene's heart skipped a beat as she smiled, feeling a sense of excitement and anticipation for what was to come. The stars began to twinkle in the sky, and the group reluctantly made their way back to Kou's house, the sound of the waves and the chatter of her friends lingering in her mind. Nene felt a sense of contentment wash over her, knowing that this was a night she would never forget.
