"Closer to the Truth"

Part 8

Izuku had been waiting for what felt like an eternity for the perfect moment to talk to Katsuki. He had been searching for opportunities all day, but it seemed like fate was conspiring against him. Every time he thought he had found the right moment, someone would interrupt them or Katsuki would suddenly get up and leave. As he walked down the hallway, Izuku spotted Katsuki sitting at a table in the cafeteria, eating his lunch. He quickly made his way over, his heart racing with excitement. But just as he was about to sit down, a group of rowdy students burst into the cafeteria, distracting Katsuki and causing him to look up. Izuku's eyes met Katsuki's for a brief moment, but before he could say anything, the group of students started asking Katsuki to join in on a game of cards. Katsuki got up, laughing, and Izuku was left standing there, feeling frustrated. Undeterred, Izuku continued his search for the perfect moment. He tried to catch Katsuki after class, but he was always surrounded by his friends. He even tried to bump into him in the hallway, but Katsuki just gave him a quick nod and kept walking. It wasn't until they were both sitting in the common area, Izuku on the floor playing with a ball and Katsuki on the couch watching TV, that Izuku finally saw his chance. He slowly got up and made his way over to the couch, his eyes fixed on Katsuki. Katsuki looked up, sensing Izuku's presence, and raised an eyebrow. "What do you want, Midoriya?" he asked, his tone neutral. Izuku sat down next to him, his heart pounding in his chest. He could feel the warmth of Katsuki's body radiating towards him, and he felt his face grow hot. He took a deep breath and reached out, grabbing Katsuki's arm and pulling him back onto the couch. Katsuki let out a surprised laugh, but he didn't try to move away. Instead, he looked at Izuku with a curious expression. "What are you doing, Midoriya?" Izuku's eyes locked onto Katsuki's, and he could feel the tension between them building. He leaned in, his face inches from Katsuki's, and whispered, "I've been wanting to talk to you all day." Katsuki's expression changed, his eyes softening. He looked at Izuku with a hint of surprise and curiosity. "About what?" Izuku's heart skipped a beat as he searched for the right words. He took a deep breath and leaned in closer, his lips almost touching Katsuki's ear. "About what happened in the alleyway," he whispered. Katsuki's eyes flashed with understanding, and he leaned in closer, his voice barely above a whisper. "You didn't think? Or you didn't want to?" Izuku's heart soared as he heard the words he had been longing to hear. He smiled, feeling a sense of relief and excitement. "Maybe a little of both," he whispered back. Katsuki's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled, and he reached out, his hand brushing against Izuku's face. "I think we're going to have to talk about this later," he said, his voice low and husky. Izuku's heart skipped a beat as he felt a spark of electricity run through his body. He knew that he had finally taken the first step towards something new, something exciting. And he couldn't wait to see where it would lead.
