The Final Flurry

Part 148

The pillow fight rages on, with feathers and fluff flying everywhere. I'm starting to feel like a sitting duck, waiting for someone to take me out. Mina's still bouncing around, her energy seemingly endless, but even she's starting to tire. Ochaco and Sero are getting pummeled by Deku and Bakugo, and Kirishima's trying to take down Kaminari with a massive pillow. As the fight winds down, I notice that there are only a few people left standing. Bakugo's still going strong, his eyes blazing with determination. Deku's right there with him, his hair mussed but his spirit unbroken. Kirishima's stumbling around, his legs wobbly from taking a few too many hits. Kaminari's laughing maniacally, swinging his pillow wildly. And Shinso's... well, Shinso's just standing there, looking smug. The others start to drop out, one by one. Mina gets hit by a stray pillow and collapses onto the floor, laughing. Ochaco and Sero team up to take down Kirishima, but then Bakugo comes out of nowhere and knocks them both out. Deku and Kirishima gang up on Kaminari, but Shinso sneaks up behind them and takes them out with a well-placed pillow. In the end, it's down to Bakugo, Deku, Kirishima, Kaminari, and Shinso. The five of them face off, their chests heaving with exertion. The air is thick with tension as they circle each other, pillows at the ready. And then, in a flash of fluff, it's over. Bakugo and Deku exchange blows, but Deku lands a lucky hit and sends Bakugo stumbling back. Kirishima and Kaminari get into a pillow-fueled brawl, but Shinso sneaks up and takes them both out. Deku and Shinso are the last two standing, facing off in the center of the room. Mina scrambles to her feet, grinning. "And the winners are... Deku and Shinso!" she exclaims, pointing at the two remaining combatants. Deku and Shinso look at each other, then back at Mina, and shrug. They seem almost bored, but I can tell they're secretly thrilled. They saunter over to me, pillows held high, and plop down on either side of me. I glance over at them, feeling a bit overwhelmed. "Well, I guess I'm stuck with you two for the next meal," I say dryly. Deku grins. "Hey, don't worry, Vesper. We'll be on our best behavior," he says, winking at me. Shinso just smirks. "Yeah, unless you're hiding the good food," he says, his eyes glinting with mischief. I sigh, resigned to my fate. It looks like I'm in for an interesting meal.
