The two male goblins led Darren through the winding paths of the cave, their movements becoming more confident and swift as they navigated the terrain. As they turned a corner, the landscape opened up into a clearing, and Darren's eyes widened at the sight before him. The clearing was teeming with rabbits, but these were no ordinary rabbits. Each one had a foot-long horn protruding from their forehead, giving them a fearsome appearance. Floating above the rabbits, a screen flickered into existence, displaying the text: "Killer Rabbit LvL 5". Darren's gaze darted to the goblins, and a new screen popped up, showing: "Goblins LvL 1". The disparity in levels explained a lot about the goblins' struggles to survive. It was clear that they were outmatched by the formidable rabbits. The revelation also shed light on the females' willingness to offer themselves to him. They were risking their survival by submitting to a stronger male, one who could potentially protect them and provide for their needs. As Darren processed this new information, another screen appeared before him: "Congratulations, you've unlocked Appraisal Skill LvL 1". He focused on the skill, using it to scan the clearing for a weak or injured rabbit. After a few moments, he spotted one lying apart from the herd, sleeping with a visibly injured leg. Darren gestured to the two male goblins, telling them to be quiet, and they nodded in understanding. He spotted a sharp-looking rock on the ground and picked it up, careful not to make any noise. Creeping stealthily around the perimeter of the clearing, he approached the injured rabbit. With a swift and silent motion, he ended the rabbit's life, using the rock to deliver a fatal blow. A new box popped up, displaying: "You've learned two new skills: Stealth and Sneak Attack". Additionally, he saw: "Level Up! You've reached LvL 2". Darren's current status was: LvL 2 Base Stats: - Strength: 10 - Agility: 12 - Intelligence: 8 He remembered starting at LvL 1 with higher base stats than the goblins. It seemed that his initial stats had been higher, but the goblins had started at a much lower level. The difference in levels and stats was starting to make sense. The two male goblins approached him, their faces filled with a mix of awe and admiration. One of them spoke in their native language, and Darren, using his limited understanding, replied: "Grog-gronk!" The goblins chuckled, seemingly pleased with his effort. With his newfound skills and increased level, Darren felt a surge of confidence. He could now provide for the goblins and protect them from the dangers that lurked in this world.
