Falling into Darkness
Part 2
The lights flickered back to life, casting an eerie glow over the scene unfolding on stage. Dominic's face was etched with panic as he cradled Ashley's head in his lap, his eyes scanning the sea of concerned faces for help. The medical staff rushed forward, their voices calm and reassuring as they worked to stabilize Ashley's convulsing body. As the crowd watched in horror, a mixture of fear and confusion spread through the audience. Some fans screamed, while others cried, all of them desperate for a glimpse of what was happening to their beloved artist. The stagehands scrambled to set up a makeshift medical area, their movements swift and precise. Dominic's voice was shaking as he spoke to the medical staff. "What's happening to her? What's going on?" he demanded, his eyes pleading for answers. One of the medical staff, a calm and composed woman with a kind face, knelt beside Dominic. "We're doing everything we can, Mr. Harrison. We need to get her off stage and into a safe environment." As they carefully lifted Ashley onto a stretcher, Dominic jumped to his feet, his face set in determination. "I'm going with her," he said, his voice firm. The medical staff nodded, and together they made their way off stage, leaving the stunned crowd to wonder what was happening to their idol. The darkness seemed to close in around them as they rushed Ashley through the labyrinthine corridors beneath the Hollywood Bowl. Finally, they reached a small, makeshift medical room, where a team of doctors and nurses waited to assess Ashley's condition. Dominic paced anxiously back and forth, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios. A gentle voice interrupted his thoughts. "Mr. Harrison, we need to run some tests, but it looks like Ashley may have had a seizure." Dominic's eyes snapped to the doctor's face. "A seizure? What caused it?" The doctor hesitated before answering. "We're not sure yet. We'll need to run some tests, but it could be related to her medical history." Dominic's eyes widened in alarm. "What medical history?" The doctor's expression was sympathetic. "Ashley has been open about her struggles with epilepsy, Mr. Harrison. It's possible that this seizure was related to her condition." As the doctor's words hung in the air, Dominic felt a sense of dread wash over him. He had known that Ashley had epilepsy, but he had no idea it was still an issue. He thought back to all the times they had performed together, all the times they had pushed themselves to the limit. What if he had missed something? The doctor's voice brought him back to reality. "We need to get Ashley stabilized and then we'll need to discuss further treatment options." Dominic nodded, his mind racing with questions and fears. As he looked at Ashley's pale face, he knew that he would do anything to help her, to keep her safe. But as the darkness closed in around them, he couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning of a long and difficult journey.
