**Chapter 13: Moonlit Secrets**
Part 13
The morning light crept through the windows, casting a silver glow over Maya's room. I woke up to find her still wrapped around me, her arms and legs entwined with mine. I smiled, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me. For a moment, we just lay there, basking in the warmth of each other's presence. As I stirred, Maya's eyes fluttered open, and she smiled up at me. "Good morning," she whispered, her voice husky from sleep. I grinned, my fingers tracing the curve of her cheek. "Good morning," I replied, my voice low. We lay there for a while, watching the sun rise through the windows. The room was quiet, except for the sound of birds chirping outside. It was a peaceful moment, one that I savored. Finally, Maya stirred, and I knew it was time to get up. We showered and dressed, and then headed downstairs to the kitchen. Sabrina was already there, sipping coffee and checking her phone. "Morning," she said, looking up at us. "Sleep well?" Maya nodded, her cheeks flushing slightly. I just grinned, and Sabrina raised an eyebrow. "I take that as a yes," she said, smiling. We sat down to a breakfast of pancakes and fruit, and for a while, we just enjoyed each other's company. The conversation was easy, relaxed, and I felt grateful for this little slice of normalcy in our lives. As we finished up, Sabrina's expression turned serious. "We need to talk about what's next," she said, her eyes locked on Maya. "We can't just sit here and wait for Ethan to make his move. We need to take action." Maya's eyes narrowed, her jaw clenched. "What did you have in mind?" she asked, her voice firm. Sabrina hesitated, glancing at me before turning back to Maya. "I was thinking we could try to gather more information about Ethan's plans. See if we can find out what he's looking for, and how we can stop him." I nodded, my mind already racing with possibilities. "I can try to dig up some info," I said. "See if I can find anything online." Maya's eyes flicked to mine, and I could see the determination there. "I'll help too," she said. "We can work together to take him down." Sabrina smiled, a small, fierce smile. "That's the spirit," she said. "We'll get through this, together." As we sat there, planning our next move, I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being watched. I glanced around the room, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Still, the feeling persisted. I turned to Sabrina, my voice low. "Do you feel that?" Sabrina's eyes narrowed, her gaze scanning the room. "Feel what?" I hesitated, unsure of how to explain. "I don't know. Just a feeling. Like someone's watching us." Maya's eyes flicked to mine, her expression concerned. "What is it, Nick?" I shook my head, trying to brush it off. "Nothing. Just my imagination." But as we continued to plan, I couldn't shake the feeling that we were being watched, that unblinking eyes were trained on us, waiting for us to make our next move.
