**Chapter 2: The Mysterious Experiment**

Part 2

Lizz Truss led Kieran into the room, her enthusiasm evident in every step. The air was thick with the scent of ozone and burning circuits, and Kieran's unease grew as he scanned the space. Machines and wires covered every available surface, and a sense of foreboding settled in the pit of his stomach. "Welcome to my latest project, Kieran," Lizz said, her eyes shining with excitement. "I've been working on this for months, and it's finally ready for testing." Kieran's gaze landed on a large, metallic device in the center of the room. It hummed softly, its surface etched with a complex network of wires and circuits. "What is it?" he asked, his voice cautious. Lizz beamed with pride. "This, Kieran, is a machine that can shrink people. Imagine it – the power to control the world at your fingertips, to bend reality to your will." Kieran's eyes widened in skepticism. "You expect me to believe that?" Lizz chuckled, a hint of menace in her voice. "I don't expect you to believe it, Kieran. I expect you to see it for yourself." She gestured to a small console beside the machine, where a single chair sat. "I've made some modifications to the device, and I need a test subject. I've been looking for the perfect candidate, and I think I've found it." Kieran's unease spiked as he realized his mother was serious. "You can't be thinking of using me," he said, taking a step back. Lizz's expression turned cold, her eyes flashing with a warning. "You'll do as I say, Kieran. You'll be a part of this, whether you like it or not." The machine loomed behind Lizz, its metal surface seeming to pulse with an otherworldly energy. Kieran felt a sense of dread creeping up his spine as he realized that his mother's obsession had reached a new level. "I won't let you do this, Mum," Kieran said, trying to sound firm. Lizz's smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with amusement. "You don't have a choice, Kieran. You're going to be the first test subject for my machine. And once I've perfected it, nothing will be able to stop me." The air seemed to vibrate with tension as Lizz approached the console. She flipped a switch, and the machine roared to life. Kieran stumbled backward, his heart racing with fear. "Please, Mum, don't do this," he begged, but Lizz just laughed. "You're going to be a part of history, Kieran," she said, her voice dripping with malice. "And there's nothing you can do to stop it." As the machine hummed louder, Kieran felt his world begin to shrink. He was about to become a part of his mother's twisted game, and he wasn't sure if he would ever escape. The machine's energy enveloped him, and Kieran closed his eyes, bracing for the unknown. When he opened them again, everything had changed. He was tiny, no bigger than a postage stamp, and Lizz's face loomed above him, her eyes gleaming with triumph. "Welcome to your new reality, Kieran," she said, her voice booming above him. "You're going to be a very small part of my world now."
