"Betrayal in the Shadows"
Part 291
The air was thick with tension as Bakugo and I stood there, trying to process the events that had just transpired. Bakugo's words of reassurance still lingered in my mind, but before I could respond, the door to the room burst open and Toga walked in, her eyes gleaming with a manic intensity. Dabi, who had been lingering in the hallway, stepped into the room, his expression unreadable. "Ah, Toga," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I see you're ready to proceed." Toga's gaze locked onto Bakugo, and she smiled sweetly. "Hold him down, Dabi," she said, her voice dripping with excitement. Bakugo's eyes widened in alarm as Dabi moved to grab him, holding him firmly in place. I tried to intervene, but my body felt heavy and unresponsive. Toga's eyes landed on me, and she walked over, a glint in her eye. She pulled out a small knife from her pocket and held it up, its blade glinting in the light. I felt a surge of fear as she approached me, but I was frozen in place, unable to move. Bakugo struggled against Dabi's grip, but he was too strong. Toga's hand reached out and touched my face, her fingers tracing the contours of my cheek. I flinched, expecting the worst, and it didn't take long for my expectation to come true. With a swift motion, she sliced the knife across my cheek, the pain searing through my skin. I cried out, clutching at my face as the sting of the cut registered. Toga's eyes sparkled with delight as she gazed at me, her smile growing wider. "There you go, you're cute again now!" she exclaimed, her voice dripping with satisfaction. I looked up at her, my eyes wide with fear and pain. Bakugo's face was twisted in a snarl as he struggled against Dabi's grip, but he was unable to free himself. Toga's smile faltered for a moment, and she leaned in close, her breath hot against my ear. "You should always be cute," she whispered, her voice sending shivers down my spine. As she stepped back, I caught a glimpse of Bakugo's furious expression, and I knew that he would do everything in his power to protect me. But for now, I was at Toga's mercy, and that was a terrifying thought.
