**Desperate Measures**

Part 9

Ashley lay on her bed, her heart racing with anxiety as she stared at the bottle of misoprostol pills on her nightstand. She had ordered them online from a website that claimed they could induce a miscarriage, and now she was about to take them. The instructions had advised her to take four pills, and she had done so, hoping that they would work. At first, nothing seemed to happen. But then, Ashley started to feel a dull ache in her lower abdomen, followed by a wave of nausea that washed over her. She got out of bed and ran to the bathroom, barely making it to the toilet before she started to vomit. As the hours passed, the pain intensified, and Ashley began to feel a heavy sensation in her pelvis. She knew that the pills were working, but she had no idea if they would be enough to terminate the pregnancy. The thought of failure was unbearable, and Ashley couldn't shake off the feeling that she had made a huge mistake. As she lay on her bed, Ashley felt a gush of blood flow out of her body. She panicked, grabbing a towel to stem the flow. The bleeding was heavy, and Ashley was terrified that she was going to bleed out. She had never been so scared in her life. But as the bleeding continued, Ashley began to feel a sense of relief. Maybe this would work, maybe she would be able to get rid of the pregnancy after all. She lay there, her body wracked with pain, as she waited to see if the bleeding would stop. The hours ticked by, and Ashley's body continued to bleed. She was exhausted, and her body ached all over. But despite the pain and the fear, Ashley felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe she had done it, maybe she had terminated the pregnancy. As she drifted in and out of consciousness, Ashley couldn't shake off the feeling that she was in grave danger. She had taken a huge risk, and now she was paying the price. If the abortion hadn't worked, she would be forced to carry the pregnancy to term, and the thought of it was unbearable. The bleeding showed no signs of slowing down, and Ashley knew that she needed to get help. She reached for her phone, her hand shaking as she dialed the number of her best friend, Sarah. She had to get to the hospital, she had to make sure that she was okay. As she waited for Sarah to answer, Ashley couldn't help but wonder if she had made a terrible mistake. Had she just put her life in danger, or had she finally found a way out of this nightmare? Only time would tell.
