A Ride to Remember

Part 5

Maya pulled up to Eric's house in her sleek, black sedan, the afternoon sun glinting off the polished surface. She had offered to pick him up for their tutoring session, and Eric had agreed, looking forward to spending more time with her. As she waited, she checked her phone for any messages from her students or her colleagues, but there were none. She was glad to have some extra time to herself before Eric arrived. As Eric walked out of his house, Maya couldn't help but notice the way he smiled when he saw her. He got into the car, and she couldn't help but feel a flutter in her chest. "Hey," he said, settling into the passenger seat. "Thanks for picking me up." Maya smiled back at him, feeling a sense of ease in his presence. "No problem," she said, starting the car and pulling away from the curb. "I'm glad we could do this. I have a few hours before my next class, so we can get a lot done." As they drove, Eric chatted about his day, telling Maya about his history class and his friends. Maya listened attentively, asking questions and making supportive noises. Eric felt comfortable with her, like he could talk to her about anything. As they approached Maya's house, Eric noticed that it was a beautiful, modern home with a large yard and a pool. "Wow," he said, impressed. "Your house is amazing." Maya smiled, feeling a sense of pride. "Thanks," she said. "I like it. It's a great place to relax after a long day." When they arrived at the house, Maya led Eric to the living room, where she had set up a desk and chair for tutoring. There were books and papers scattered around the room, and Eric felt a sense of relief that they would be getting down to business. But as they sat down, Maya couldn't help but notice the way Eric looked at her. It was like he was seeing her for the first time, and she felt a flutter in her chest. She tried to focus on the lesson plan, but she couldn't help but feel a sense of awareness of Eric's presence. As they began to work on the math problems, Maya found herself getting distracted by Eric's proximity. She could smell his cologne, a subtle scent that made her feel drawn to him. She tried to push the feeling aside, focusing on the lesson, but she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement at being alone with him. As the tutoring session went on, Eric started to feel more confident, and Maya was impressed by his quick grasp of the material. She smiled at him, feeling a sense of pride in her student. "You're doing great," she said, her voice soft and encouraging. Eric looked up at her, his eyes locking onto hers. For a moment, they just stared at each other, the air thick with tension. Maya felt her heart racing, and she knew that she had to be careful. She couldn't let her feelings get the best of her. But as she looked into Eric's eyes, she knew that she was already in trouble.
