**Chapter 9: The Big Day**

Part 9

The sun was shining brightly on the day of Dorothy and Lucas's wedding, casting a warm glow over the entire scene. Dorothy stood in front of the mirror, her hair styled perfectly, her makeup flawless, and her white wedding gown sparkling like diamonds. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves as she gazed at her reflection. Rose, Blanche, and Sophia bustled around her, making sure everything was perfect. Rose adjusted Dorothy's veil, Blanche fluffed out her train, and Sophia handed her a bouquet of fresh flowers. "You look stunning, dear," Rose said, beaming with pride. "Yeah, you're a real looker," Sophia added, "but don't get too cocky. You're still gonna trip on that hem and face-plant in front of all those people." Dorothy rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "Thanks for the vote of confidence, Sophia." Blanche handed her a pair of earrings. "Here, darling, put these on. They'll complement your dress perfectly." As Dorothy put on the earrings, Lucas knocked on the door. "It's time, my love," he said, his voice filled with excitement. Dorothy took a deep breath, smiled at her friends, and nodded. The girls cheered and hugged her, and then she was off, walking down the aisle to meet Lucas. The ceremony was being held in a beautiful park, surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers. The guests were all seated, chatting and laughing as they waited for the bride to arrive. As Dorothy walked towards Lucas, he couldn't take his eyes off her. She looked breathtakingly beautiful, and he felt his heart swell with love and adoration. The minister began to speak, and the ceremony began. Dorothy and Lucas exchanged vows, promising to love and cherish each other for the rest of their lives. As they exchanged rings, Dorothy felt a sense of joy and commitment wash over her. She knew that she had made the right decision in marrying Lucas, and she couldn't wait to spend the rest of her life with him. The minister pronounced them husband and wife, and Lucas lifted Dorothy's veil and kissed her softly on the lips. The guests erupted into cheers and applause as the newlyweds walked hand in hand down the aisle. As they reached the end of the aisle, Dorothy turned to Lucas and smiled. "I'm so happy," she said, her voice trembling with emotion. Lucas smiled back, his eyes shining with love. "Me too, my darling. Me too." The guests cheered and whistled as the newlyweds made their way to the reception, ready to celebrate their love and commitment to each other. Little did they know, the night had only just begun, and it would be one they would never forget.
