"Restraints and Revelations"

Link's face was red with rage as he finally managed to free himself from his restraints. He took a deep breath and let out a loud rant, his grammar and vocabulary leaving much to be desired. "Me no like bein' tied up! Me hate bein' treat like kid! Me big boy, me can make own decisions! Harr no trust me, Harr no think me smart! Me show Harr, me show Emily, me make Bigfoot come back and Harr no can stop me!" Harry and Emily were still arguing, but they paused to listen to Link's outburst. Emily turned to Harry, her expression sympathetic. "Harry, come on. Link's just a kid. He wants to have friends and have fun. Can't you just understand that?" Harry's face turned incredulous. "A kid? Emily, Link is a grown adult... well, not exactly adult, but he's a large and powerful human-yeti hybrid. He's not a child. He needs to be treated as such." Emily shook her head. "But he's still young at heart. And he's been through a lot. You have to consider that." Harry threw up his hands. "Consider what? That he's a giant, furry, apelike creature with superhuman strength? That he's capable of leveling a city block with a single swipe of his arm? Emily, he's not a kid. He's a force of nature." Link, still fuming, stomped his foot and shouted, "Me no kid! Me big and strong! Me can take care me self! Harr no trust me, me show him!" Emily sighed and tried to reason with Harry. "Harry, you're being unreasonable. You're treating Link like a child. He's not a child, he's... different. And he needs to be treated with respect." Harry shook his head. "I'm trying to protect us, Emily. I'm trying to keep us safe. You don't understand the risks." Emily's voice rose. "I understand that you're being overprotective and unreasonable. And I'm not going to stand for it." With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Harry and Link staring after her. Harry's face twisted in frustration and he shouted, "Fine! Have it your way!" He stormed off, slamming the door behind him and stomping out into the night, leaving Link and Emily alone in the house.
