Melodic Mayhem

Part 149

As I sat there, surrounded by the remnants of the pillow fight, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief wash over me. Deku and Shinso plopped down on either side of me, still grinning from ear to ear, and the others began to gather around, their eyes shining with excitement. Mina, still bouncing with energy, clapped her hands together. "Vesper, sing for us! Pleeease?" she asked, her voice trembling with anticipation. The others chimed in, their voices rising in a chorus of requests. "Yeah, Vesper, sing something!" Deku exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. Bakugo, never one to be outdone, jumped into the fray, his voice booming across the room. "Yeah, come on, Vesper! Show us what you've got!" I hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. But Shinso, ever the manipulator, leaned in close, his voice low and persuasive. "Come on, Vesper. We all loved it when you sang last time. It was... mesmerizing." Kaminari and Kirishima nodded in agreement, their faces alight with excitement. Deku and Bakugo chimed in, their voices rising in a chorus of encouragement. Even Mina, still bouncing with energy, began to chant my name. "Vesper, Vesper, Vesper!" I sighed, feeling a bit overwhelmed. But then, a song popped into my head. "Birds of a Feather" by Billie Eilish. It was a bit of a dark song, but something about it seemed fitting for this motley crew. I took a deep breath, and began to sing. My voice poured out of me like honey, smooth and rich. The others listened, entranced, as I sang of chaos and destruction, of finding comfort in the darkness. Todoroki's eyes went wide, his face rapt with attention. Bakugo's jaw dropped, his eyes fixed on me with a mixture of shock and admiration. Shinso's smirk faltered, replaced by a look of genuine awe. As I reached the chorus, the others began to sway to the music, their bodies moving in time with the beat. Deku and Kaminari even started to harmonize with me, their voices blending in perfect sync. Kirishima, never one to be outdone, started to beatbox, adding a low rumble to the music. When I finished, the room erupted into cheers. The others applauded, whistled, and even stomped their feet, their faces alight with excitement. Bakugo, still looking shell-shocked, stumbled forward, his eyes fixed on me with a mixture of admiration and adoration. "Vesper, you're... you're incredible," he stammered, his voice barely above a whisper. The others nodded in agreement, their faces still flushed with excitement. Todoroki approached me, a look of reverence on his face. "Vesper, your voice is truly beautiful," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. I blushed, feeling a bit self-conscious. But Shinso just smiled, his eyes glinting with mischief. "Told you, Vesper. You've got a gift." As the others continued to fawn over me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. Maybe, just maybe, I'd found a new way to connect with these eccentric heroes. And maybe, just maybe, I'd found a new talent.
